Every single person in Bisonte Palace was very friendly and helpful. They helped us with simels in a very courteus manner. In short, they showed us what rgentinian hospitality is. The Hotel was very good and at an excellent position in town center.

Staid with my wife at this hotel this week (end of April 2015) after spending days in Southern Chile and Argentina. Location of this place is very central. There are many good Hotels in this locality few yards apart.. Restaurants, bars, convenience stores, are available within few yards. Booked via Lamma tour agent for standard double bed room. Reception and... More

I stayed here for a short period on my way for trip to Iguazu Falls. This is a nice place in city center. Everything is very close from this hotel -- main shopping area, theater halls, movie halls, etc. The main bus terminal is close by. I could take the bus to airport. The staff are very nice and helpful.... More

Travelling on our honeymoon, we tried to check in early and were refused. When we finally spoke with the reception manager, she said that there were no rooms available (without even checking the availability) and check in was at 1pm. When we spoke to someone else we were told that we can possibly have a room for 11am but this... More

I stayed here for 3 nights during a 10 day tour of Argentina and Brazil. I feel this hotel was adequate for a short stay. You could say its cheap and cheerful with the decor in the room I was in a bit dated but personally that kind thing doesn't bother me, as long as the bed is comfortable and... More

I had stayed at Bisonte Palace twice before and the experience was excellent. This time I was disappointed. The suite was in no conditions to lodge tourists. The door didn't close properly, the toilet lid was broken, the bed was absolutely uncomfortable and the TV didn't work. My wife is an asthmatic and the strong smell of chlorine in the... More

I would not recommend this hotel. The staff on reception were completely rude and unhelpful upon my arrival here. Also the rooms are old fashioned! The location is good, but I would suggest looking elsewhere as it is very easy to get around Buenos Aires anyhow either on foot, by bus, metro or taxi.

On the whole fine, reasonable location yo access many city sights. Room in need of renovation/upgrade, not sure if the wiring would pass health and safety regulations in the UK, see picture. Staff friendly breakfast ok but some times difficult to get SN early sitting if you had booked trips out. Staff seemed to dislike going the 'extra mile' but... More

A friend and I stayed here for 4 nights in June 2014. She is handicapped and in a wheelchair. The first night she did not feel well so I ordered food from across the street. They would not let me take it to the room. No food allowed in the room. Bathroom very badly deteriorated and the rug was filthy.... More

If you don't want to spend your whole traveling budget in a hotel, this is your place. The location is amazing - very close to everything in the center (which is undergoing a lot of renovations) and the best thing is - the usual downtown noise never gets to the room, so I had an amazing sleep. Breakfast is very... More

Staying in Retiro

Neighborhood Profile
Retiro
Exquisite palaces and luxurious apartment buildings combine with art galleries and exclusive boutiques to make Retiro the perfect spot for those who enjoy sophistication. However, the non-stop foot traffic to and from Retiro train and bus terminals, accompanied by the myriad of trucks leaving and arriving at the port, mean this neighborhood is never truly at rest. One minute you are walking down a street dotted with ornate mansions and luxurious shop windows and the next you find yourself surrounded by a sea of people racing to catch their train or bus. It is this juxtaposition of never-ending comings and goings and quiet, elegant luxury that defines Retiro, as well as Buenos Aires, a city where sharp contrasts are all around.
