Melia Buenos Aires is very well located, near shopping, dining and Puerto Madero. The área is quite safe, even at night. The receptionists (particularly Raul) were very helpful during the check-in and afterwards. Though we were in a suite, the whole hotel seems to be a bit run down.

Melai hotel is very convieniently locted on the mall in downtown Buenos Aires with taxis and tour buses the only vehicles slowly travelling along the mall - taxis right up to front door of the hotel. Heaps of restaurants, cafes and bars - even a bottle shop with a good selection of wines both local and from many other countries... More

I stayed here for 4 nights. The room was lovely (I had a suite) but the room service was extremely patchy. I ordered coffee and tea for a meeting in my room and the first lot never arrived I had to ask 3 times. The swimming pool was closed for the duration of my visit which was a disappointment but... The hotel was great. Great location, style and customer service. However, there were a few things that were a bit disappointing. The check-in process took a long time. Usually check-ins are 5 mins or so. In this case it was 15 to 20 min, too long considering it was just a hotel and not a resort were there is more... More

Beware! There are a couple of other Melias' in BA, so make sure you book and then get to the right one! We stayed 2 nights 26-28 Feb 2015. This Hotel's entrance is located in a rather narrow lane which becomes a lively bar and dinner location in the evening. The Hotel is pretty standard fare and the service is... More

We spent 4 days, 3 nights in Buenos Aires at the end of March. Our stay at the Melia was great. The location is close to the main shopping street of Calle Florida and within walking distance of the Casa Rosada, Metropolitan Cathedral, and the Teatro Colon. The room was spacious and comfortable. Of special note was the front desk... More

This was the second hotel we stayed during our trip to Buenos Aires. We selected this one for its location closer to Puerto Madero and city centre pedestrian areas (shopping). Staying in Retiro

Neighborhood Profile
Retiro
Exquisite palaces and luxurious apartment buildings combine with art galleries and exclusive boutiques to make Retiro the perfect spot for those who enjoy sophistication. However, the non-stop foot traffic to and from Retiro train and bus terminals, accompanied by the myriad of trucks leaving and arriving at the port, mean this neighborhood is never truly at rest. One minute you are walking down a street dotted with ornate mansions and luxurious shop windows and the next you find yourself surrounded by a sea of people racing to catch their train or bus. It is this juxtaposition of never-ending comings and goings and quiet, elegant luxury that defines Retiro, as well as Buenos Aires, a city where sharp contrasts are all around.
