If you are looking for a hotel that has all the services of a much larger hotel but the charm of a boutique hotel, the Melia Buenos Aires is worth your consideration . Located in the Recolete district, within walking distance of lots of great restaurants and shops, the hotel is a true value, its staff could not be nicer,... More

Having stayed previously at a Melia we decided to book this one in Buenos Aires. It is a great location for restaurants, shops, transfer to or from the port, etc. The staff were extremely helpful and we could not have been more happy with our decision. Initially, we booked on Hotels.com and got an excellent rate but once we arrived... More

I didn't get a chance to try out the spa but the room was nicely decorated, clean and comfortable and felt roomy. The breakfast was OK and the service was very good. There are many great restaurants within short walking distance and you are centrally located for scouting around Buenos Aires.

It is a pretty, well located hotel. Hard to beat the value for the money. Not the friendliest people in town, but overall professional. Rooms are dated but renovated and clean. I would recommend this hotel.

We enjoyed our four nights in this hotel. It was a good base from which to walk to the many inteesting sights in this part of the city. The bedroom was vast, a little tired perhaps, but provided with plenty of cupboard space as well as drawers. The bathroom was serviceable and everŷthing worked. In the bedroom the soundproofing of... The hotel itself us good, but nothing to remember for as special. There are restaurants in walking distance, but if you want to see attractions better to take a taxi or another form of transportation. If you are here for business, I still recommend since the proximity of the commercial center.

I stayed for two periods one for 5 nights and one for 3 nights with a visit to the Iguazu Falls in between. A clean well run top quality hotel with exceptionally helpful staff. I found the free WiFi on the ground floor useful and the rooms were clean, large and had everything one could wish for. I do not... More

Can not write anything negative about our stay at Melia Buenos Aires. Staff always helpful, spacious rooms, great location, breakfast buffet very good. Gym facilities very good for a hotel & free wifi (even though Booking.com says you must pay). Plenty of nightlife on your doorstep Including Pirate Bar) but very quiet

The rooms don't have a lot of personality but the location is perfect in retiro! It is across the street from fun bars Nd restaurants. Everything was walking distance and a total hip place. The concierge was helpful and easy check in and check out. It was a little loud from the bars across the street but we were only... More

Staying in Retiro

Neighborhood Profile
Retiro
Exquisite palaces and luxurious apartment buildings combine with art galleries and exclusive boutiques to make Retiro the perfect spot for those who enjoy sophistication. However, the non-stop foot traffic to and from Retiro train and bus terminals, accompanied by the myriad of trucks leaving and arriving at the port, mean this neighborhood is never truly at rest. One minute you are walking down a street dotted with ornate mansions and luxurious shop windows and the next you find yourself surrounded by a sea of people racing to catch their train or bus. It is this juxtaposition of never-ending comings and goings and quiet, elegant luxury that defines Retiro, as well as Buenos Aires, a city where sharp contrasts are all around.
