Well located, in a historical building in Recoleta, one of Buenos Aires most beautiful neighborhoods. Staff is very friendly, facilities are comfortable, wifi is free and they have very good prices. Brazilians feel specially at home. Portuguese is easily spoken in the facilities.

I absolutely LOVE this hostel/hotel. I spend my summers in Buenos Aires and have stayed here for the last two: you will not find a homier, warmer, friendlier hostel in all of Buenos Aires. Among the many wonderful things about this beloved place, I will highlight just a few: - Unbeatable location: the hostel is located in the heart of... More

I have spent 3 nights in that hostel. First of all I booked online to buy the membershipcard but the hostel was ¨out of stock¨ so I paid full price and was told to go to another HI hostel to buy the card. Then the people barely speak english and wont try to slow down so you can understand when... More

1. The reception staff is amazingly helpful, efficient, and friendly. They really care about the hostel and the visitors. They do not mind getting involved with a million details of running a hostel, or with any travel problem or question any visitor might have . I interacted mostly with very professional Lucas and very cool Juanito (who are both completely... More

We had a double room (105 with wifi!) with bathroom on the ground floor, in the open area. This area is quite charming and we didn't have major problems with noise. This room had no windows, but the ceiling was high and it didin't bother us. The hostel itself is far from the street so it is pretty calm and... More

I had a great stay at the Recoleta Youth Hostel. The rooms have enough space, the lockers are big and the beds are comfortable. Good breakfast. Also the staff members at the reception are really nice and very helpfull. I want to thank Juanito, Jorge, Lucas and Martin for making me feel more than welcome. I will definitely return to... More

Hi Recoleta Hostel is in a superb location and offers lovely rooms and very friendly staff. The barrio of Recoleta is well known for shopping and ritzy things of which I found many. Not exactly a bargain neighborhood but well worth a look around. Also there are plenty of bus routes for getting around to the other parts of the... More

Staying in Retiro

Neighborhood Profile
Retiro
Exquisite palaces and luxurious apartment buildings combine with art galleries and exclusive boutiques to make Retiro the perfect spot for those who enjoy sophistication. However, the non-stop foot traffic to and from Retiro train and bus terminals, accompanied by the myriad of trucks leaving and arriving at the port, mean this neighborhood is never truly at rest. One minute you are walking down a street dotted with ornate mansions and luxurious shop windows and the next you find yourself surrounded by a sea of people racing to catch their train or bus. It is this juxtaposition of never-ending comings and goings and quiet, elegant luxury that defines Retiro, as well as Buenos Aires, a city where sharp contrasts are all around.
