I have stayed here many times and cannot find a better place then this. Sophistication is the word that comes to my mind when describing this jewel. From its decor from the belle epoque with stunning Luis XVI furniture to its wonderful service, staying at the Alvear Palace gives you exactly that, a sensation that you are in a palace... More

This is truly one of the best hotels in Argentina. The hotel was renovated around 11 years ago,I remember an article on the Architectural Digest. The hotel is old world style. Butler and valet service is exceptional. Rooms are ample and comfortable. One of the best breakfast buffets I have seen. A great place to stay

My teenage aged son and I stayed 4 nights at the Alvear Palace on a first time trip to Buenos Aires. I have stayed at several great hotels in my life ( 4 Seasons, Montreaux Palace, Madrid Ritz) and the Alvear Palace is up there with the best of them. The decor is gorgeous, the beds super comfortable, the rooms... More

Everything was superb with this hotel we stayed in a junior suite (the second lowest category) and it was very comfortable. The streets feel very safe to walk around I brought my DSLR and took photos with no hint of danger. If you are looking to change $USD via dollar blue there is a place behind the hotel. Although strictly... More

Beautiful hotel which has been kept as glorious as the day it opened. Very grand and the rooms are beautiful and immaculate, the service very professional. Close to cemetery and restaurants and we even walked to Palermo (long but through amazing parklands) and to the Obelisco and Teatro Colon (15-20 mins). Recoleta is a beautiful suburb in itself. I found... More

Classic mature luxury hotel in best Buenos Aires business/residential area. Excellent old fashioned service, superb daily breakfast buffet, well designed and furnished rooms and suites. Nor cheap but worth every penny.

This hotel is in the same chain as the Alvear Art Hotel. This hotel is luxurious, beautiful, and conveniently located. HOWEVER. For GBP£200 less you could have a room in the Alvear Art Hotel. A brand new, modern equilivalent. So if you want luxury, but don't want the price tag, I would recommend to seriously consider the Alvear Art. If... More

My daughter and I were trekking through Argentina and on to the World Cup. We had already reserved a boutique hotel in the Palermo district of Buenos Aires. But we found ourselves arriving three days earlier than expected in Buenos Aires. We picked the Alvear Palace for those days due to its reputation and location in Recoleta. We were a... More

The Alvear Palace Hotel is situated in the most elegant neighbourhood of Buenos Aires, La Recoleta. It is an area of extensive parks, wide avenues, and luxurious architecture in a classical style, where the best restaurants, cafes, antique shops and boutiques of Buenos Aires, are to be found. Some of the main museums and cultural centres are close by, and the financial area is only five minutes away.A symbol of elegance is bornOriginally built as a luxury hotel to accommodate the increasing amount of European visitors arriving in Buenos Aires at the time, the Alvear Palace was transformed in 1932 into a model of the highest expression of refinement. The majestic rooms and suites, as well as the lobby and public areas, are reminiscent of the Louis XV and Louis XVI styles, which are evident in the furniture, the crystal chandeliers, walls decorated with gold leaf and works of art of famous artists. The eleven-floor luxurious building with five basement levels stands as an undisputed symbol of the city, on the corner of Alvear Avenue and Ayacucho Street. The second foundationContinuous work and dedication, guided by the maximum standards of international excellence, led to the designation of the Alvear Palace Hotel as a member of the Leading Hotels of the World in 1993, an organization that recognizes the best hotels in the world. ... more   less
