The Savoy is an old established hotel placed between congreso and callao 'subte' stations, easy to reach by taxi or retiro from the ferry, and well placed for a weekend stay in B.A. Its breakfast is a little stark, and the decor is aging, but its pleasant, and amiable, and the staff are helpful. The building has history and they're... More

...the rooms are tiny, the breakfast was just okay, the hallways are very dark and my wife didn't feel safe walking alone, and the hair dry in the room was actually melted. We brought it to the front desk in the bag it's stored in and they said to leave it with them. When we returned to the hotel that... More

My wife and I stayed three nights at the Savoy Hotel at the end of February 2015. We very much enjoyed our time there and would recommend it as a reasonably priced yet very comfortable hotel that is close to many of Buenos Aires must-see sites. Our room was spacious and quiet, we had no complaints. The breakfast that was... More

We enjoyed our 6 day stay at the savoy buenos aires. We are a family of 2 teens and 2 adults. There were two single beds and a king all be it there were really hard and hurt my shoulder as a side sleeper. The shower was phenomenal. The staff was helpful (and mostly spoke English), setting up taxis and... More

This hotel was recommended to us by friends and we were very pleased. So much is excellent. The rooms are comfortable and spacious. The location is very convenient --- near downtown but not quite in the middle of the noise. The service is superb. Most importantly, the staff is helpful, friendly, and will bend over backwards to help.

The staff was friendly and professional. The hotel was nice and charming. The bar room was beautiful. The first night we asked for a wake up call, but the system was down and we almost missed breakfast. They fixed the problem that day, and the next day the wake up call worked. Savoy hotel is truly a example of old... More

Great location. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience there. The price was a bargain and the staff was great. They were always willing to give recommendations on places to go and would arrange transportation and make reservations without me having to ask- they offered their assistance without hesitation. On my next trip to BA next year, I will stay at Savoy... More

My husband and I have traveled all over the world and this was, quite possibly, the most beautiful room we have ever stayed in. We booked well in advance and we able to stay in one of the 4 corner suites. If we every return to Buenos Aires, we would definitely try to stay there again. Not as good as... More

We put a wallet with $4000 USD in the hotel safe, along with passports and jewelry, and upon leaving, realized the wallet was no longer among us. Upon asking the hotel, they said that they did not see anything suspicious on the hotel cameras, and that no one knows the combination to the safe, and sent us an activity log... More

The architecture is beautiful, and I'm sure this used to be a grand hotel. However, I really felt nickeled and dimed during my stay, and felt that the rooms were not nearly as spectacular as the decor in the public areas. I felt like with every 'good' thing there was a caveat: - free wifi in lobby but not in... More

Staying in San Nicolas

Neighborhood Profile
San Nicolas
Immersed in the sound of honking horns and the footsteps of busy office workers, the Microcentro area of San Nicolás is where visitors will encounter the true hustle and bustle of Buenos Aires, walking down streets lined with office buildings and banks. The financial district is well-known for its vibrant atmosphere and unstoppable rhythm during office hours. After dark, the hubbub migrates to Corrientes Ave., where theater lovers might start their evening at a play and end it in one of the many traditional pizzerias nearby. During the day, Corrientes is known for its many bookshops and classic cafés, which are located just minutes away from some famous landmarks, like the Obelisco, Avenida 9 de Julio, and the Teatro Colon.
