A grand old building which was obviously once a landmark in this city, but I feel it lets itself down in a number of ways. Others have noted to cost of in house items (eg water) and this was the only hotel in three weeks in south America where I had to pay for Wi-Fi. Had been planning to use... More

Good rooms, great staff and a fair basic price but 116 pesos for a bottle of water you can buy for 12 just across the road? They have the loneliest barman in the world because the pricing strategy is clearly one drink per person per stay - nobody buys a second round. If you ask their staff they will tell... More

Grand old building, but not renovated in sympathy to its old world charm, and badly in need of another facelift. Prices in the bar unbelievably expensive. We had two mixed drinks each which cost around US$120.00!!! Doorman not helpful, didn't take bags until asked, not there to greet and open the the door. Rooms tired with maintenance and repairs needed.... More

This was my second stay in BA and my second stay in the Savoy. This time I had my brothers and sisters stay here too because i thought so highly of my first time at this hotel. The staff at the front desk are excellent, with good english and plenty of suggestions for restaurants and shopping and places to go and... As others have said the interior of this hotel is beautiful. We had a room on the fourth floor and overlooking the side of the building. Had no problem with noise from outside. Room was on the small size but adequate for a short stay. Bathroom was lovely and had plenty of room. Bed comfy. Overall good level of cleanliness.... More

Classy hotel but with high prices reflecting this. Hotel very clean, staff very helpful with good English spoken. Nicely positioned for walking about and eating places but had some problems outside hotel securitywise. Breakfast left much to be desired not enough staff to cope with amount of guests.

This is a good hotel, I was given a very quiet interior room ( facing the back), away from traffic and street noise. Decent breakfast, good service. Location is not great, the "locals" are afraid to get into the area because traffic is usually bad. If you need better access to businesses and places it is better to try the... More

We booked a handicap-accessible room with a roll-in shower. The room was nice, though a bit crowded. The bathroom was very attractive with highly-polished stone flooring. The flooring in the bathroom was very, very slippery when wet, and after one uses a shower that floor is wet. There was no rubber floor mat to help with your footing when arising... More

Would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Apart from paying $USD 25 for a beer in their bar (so whatever you do, no drinks in their bar!), the hotel only gave you the basics. Forget breakfast, the food was non existent and the platters empty. The staff were rude, the rooms rudimentary and no water is supplied. No tissues in the... More

This hotel is simply marvellous. We stayed there 3 times in four weeks, and each time the stay was more than satisfactory. The hotel is in a really good position in Via Callao, just one block from the Congresso, so we could walk to Santa Fe, Florida, Recoletta, the Pink Palace and Plaza Mayo to name just a few. The... Staying in San Nicolas

Neighborhood Profile
San Nicolas
Immersed in the sound of honking horns and the footsteps of busy office workers, the Microcentro area of San Nicolás is where visitors will encounter the true hustle and bustle of Buenos Aires, walking down streets lined with office buildings and banks. The financial district is well-known for its vibrant atmosphere and unstoppable rhythm during office hours. After dark, the hubbub and migrates to Corrientes Ave., where theater lovers might start their evening at a play and end it in one of the many traditional pizzerias nearby. During the day, Corrientes is known for its many bookshops and classic cafés, which are located just minutes away from some famous landmarks, like the Obelisco, Avenida 9 de Julio, and the Teatro Colon.
