The Marriott Plaza is well located in downtown Buenos Aires, on San Martin Square and adjoining Florida Street, one of the main shopping malls. It is a fine old facility which has been modernized, but it is still an old facility. The rooms were clean, everything worked. Unfortunately we booked through a Princess cruise and it was an absolute goat-rope... more

We stayed here on Marriott points for four nights. The hotel was so full that there were no upgrade possibilities. The first room we were given was a smoking room. Unacceptable. It was quite a wait to get a second room. That room was fairly small -- you could not really close the door while standing by the toilet. Needless... more

Charming and beautifully renovated old building in a gerat location. Near subway and bus transportation and at the start of the pedestrian Calle Florida, some of the best shopping in Buenos Aires. Large rooms with high ceilings and exquiste beds. Some rough spots with service, but management (after commenting) intends to improve. more

After I booked my reservation online, I called Marriot reservations to assure this hotel had air conditioning as my sister has mulitple sclerosis and needs a cooler room. I was assured the hotel had ac. We were taken to our room at about 1530 and as soon as we got off the elevator we noticed how hot the hallway was... more

The hotel is a lovely looking old building in a great location but the incredibly rude and incompentent staff made this one of the worst stays in ages. I was staying on business on a really expensive tariff ($450/night). For that I was given a 2nd floor room overlooking a concrete service block. Upon complaining - I was told that... more

We were very pleased with our stay at this hotel. The crowd was mainly older and quiet. Very easy to get a cab anywhere and it was located in a central part of Buenos Aires but adjacent to Parque San Marcos and to Florida St. shopping. We never ate at the in-house restaurant because there were many other good options.... more

A real Grand Hotel -- the Plaza - old but renovated a few years back. Some rooms are odd shaped, but all I have stayed in (12-15) are very comfortable and quiet. The service is great from everyone! Wireless is free in the Bistro and lobby - pay in the rooms. Location is at one end of Florida Street known... more

My wife and I stayed for 4 nights in the Marriott hotel. The hotel is in an excellent location - right on the major shopping street. The hotel is overrun with American tourists. They overwhelm the lobby in the afternoons. They are afraid to venture out of the hotel by themselves so they sit in the lobby after checking out... more

This will be a really mixed review as there are some great points to this hotel but it is also very let down in some aspects. My husband and I stayed for 3 days in a double room on the second floor. The view was of a concrete block but the room itself was very nicely appointed with one of... more
