I stayed at this hotel in December 2014 because it was an Intercontinental and I am a Intercontinental Ambassador. It had a 5 star rating and was relatively inexpensive. With that said it was a mistake to stay at this hotel. The hotel is well past its prime and in need of a complete refurbishment. I had a Presidential Suite... More

Words cannot do this hotel justice. The room was gorgeous, and very clean. Watching the television in English with Spanish subtitles was very interesting. The staff was very courteous and went out of their way to help. Well done!

Luxury hotel with all the facilities, and a very good restaurant serving traditional Argentinean food ,heavy on delicious beef cooked in several ways, the only problem is the Hotel is situated in a area of the city where there are a lot of pick pockets.

This is high class run by professional members. Room size and facility proper ,lighting good as well as the air condition. Swimming pool and sanna on the first is good located, but hoping close later than 10 pm.

Very nice hotel. Excellent staff. Very clean and professional. Unfortunately not centrally located for the better parts of town but plenty of taxis available. Very nice lounge and concierge service. Bar is very expensive and exchange rate is not preferable.

On our recent South America trip we were booked into the Intercontinental Hotel. This is a 5 star hotel with a few odd characteristics. It is very nice in appearance, well maintained, the staff is excellent, the wifi works great, food is good at their eateries and this is probably one of the best places to stay in Buenas Aires.... We stay as a small tour group, the hotel is quiet and beautiful, located on a small lane close to the main street. But is quiet. The breakfast area is beautiful and good quality breakfast. we can walk easily to the walking street/shopping area.

Our cruise line, Celebrity Cruises, booked our pre-night stay at this hotel. From what we gathered, this is the place used by the cruise companies sailing out of Buenos Aires since the lobby was usually packed with other cruisers. We were happy with our room but in all fairness should mention some facility considerations so you can plan ahead. 1)... More

We stayed here 2 nights. The room was nice, very comfortable bed but bathroom was dated. Hotel location is not that great, but you can always order a taxi at the reception (very helpful). Staying in Montserrat

Neighborhood Profile
Montserrat
As part of the historic quarter of Buenos Aires, Montserrat is defined by the historical events that took place there and the landmarks that have stood the test of time. The Plaza de Mayo is at the center of this connection to history: countless public demonstrations have passed through this square, going back to the May Revolution of 1810. Walking the streets of Montserrat allows us to imagine what Buenos Aires may have looked like in the past: the Cabildo takes us back to the late 16th century, while the Palacio Barolo and the traditional cafés carry us to the early 20th. Nowadays, the neighborhood is inundated every day by office workers, buses, and taxis; still, the cobblestones, narrow sidewalks, and subway stations from the 1910s remind us that we are surrounded by history everywhere we look.
