Very well located in downtown Buenos Aires, 2 blocks from the Subte (metro / subway). Also, you can go on foot to Plaza de Mayo, Casa Rosada, Puerto Madero, the Obelisk, Corrientes Av. and many other nice landmarks. Also, with a quick trip by taxi, you can get to Recoleta, Palermo. The hotel is a bit old but the accomodations... More

This large hotel has a great location near the Teatro Colon, Obelisk and many good restaurants. There is also a mini-mart a few doors down. Unfortunately, thievery is rampant in the surrounding area so do take care. A lady in our party had her purse stolen in a restaurant nearby. We were careful and walked around quite a bit and... A large international style hotel in the center of the main boulevard 1 block from the obelisk and across the boulevard from the opera house. Very comfortable with King sized bed, but not cozy or intimate. Located in the very heart of the city was a perfect location for our interests. Breakfast bar was more than adequate with several meat... More

Stayed here for two nights after a cruise. Excellent location and plenty of restaurants nearby. US dollars accepted in all the restaurants we used, we didn't change any money to pesos. Lots of sites within walking distance, we walked everywhere and didn't use any public transport. Reception Staff and Concierge very helpful, we checked in for our return flights online... More

Stayed in January with a friend. Pros- next to the train (subte) many lines. Paulina at the front desk was the only helpful person. Cons- first room smelled horrendous, and hair is the tub that wasn't ours, asked for a second room- the bed was a king when I told the front desk we booked a double he said the... More

This is a hotel who could tell you the story and history of Buenos Aires. It's classical and regardless if you are sitting in the cigar bar smoking a cigar and sipping a whiskey The atmosphere will tell you the stories of the hotel. This is an amazing place.

Pros. Very good location directly opposite the amazing Teatro Colon. Safe if rather run-down area. Staff were mainly very friendly and helpful if not always effective. Very nice and spacious room with little noise (we were on 10th floor). Wonderful quiet and effective air conditioning. Really comfortable bed with great linen. Lovely pool and spa on the top floor with... More

Hotel is located in a great location across from the Opera and near the Obelisk. Within walking distance of shops and restaurants. It appears to cater to tourist groups. Staff friendly and was very helpful. Breakfast buffet somewhat lacking in variety.

We stayed here for our honeymoon for a few nights mid December. The service was absolutely appalling. We stayed at an upper suite room. Have to say one of the most beautiful rooms I've stayed in, but given we had spent so much, you would think we would be looked after. 1.'Breakfast' was included but worst breakfast ever. I don't... We had a pleasant stay at the hotel for 3 nights. The location is great and easy to explain to taxi drivers. The tourist bus would also stop nearby, which is convenient. Service is excellent and the staff are helpful. Nice breakfast too. The pool is nice if you have young children or just want to relax. The view there... More

Staying in San Nicolas

Neighborhood Profile
San Nicolas
Immersed in the sound of honking horns and the footsteps of busy office workers, the Microcentro area of San Nicolás is where visitors will encounter the true hustle and bustle of Buenos Aires, walking down streets lined with office buildings and banks. The financial district is well-known for its vibrant atmosphere and unstoppable rhythm during office hours. After dark, the hubbub migrates to Corrientes Ave., where theater lovers might start their evening at a play and end it in one of the many traditional pizzerias nearby. During the day, Corrientes is known for its many bookshops and classic cafés, which are located just minutes away from some famous landmarks, like the Obelisco, Avenida 9 de Julio, and the Teatro Colon.
