We stayed here for 3 nights at the end of our South American adventure, and loved the hotel and its location. Quaint courtyard feel, friendly and helpful staff, great breakfast and all at a very reasonable price. Would definitely recommend and stay here again. (only downside was the bathroom was open to the room - so make sure you are... More

The area where the hotel is located is the historical center of Buenos Aires, but is very close to Puerto Madero which is the top of bs.as., so walking just 10 blocks you access to a gastronomic and commercial pole that is highly recommended .

We love this hotel. We are using it as our home-base while on a three week trip in Argentina, and returning to it every time we go back to Buenos Aires. The hotel is perfectly situated in the lovely neighborhood of San Telmo, which is definitely the most charming area of Buenos Aires, full of enticing restaurants and cafes, but... More

I was very happy to have chosen this place for my first few nights in Buenos Aires. The price was unbeatable and the location is quite good - within walking distance of the Subte and major tourist attractions. It is a modern, clean, fresh-feeling hotel that was for me a very nice oasis in a busy city. My room was... More

We never would have made it through our trip without the help of the staff at Patios de San Telmo. Our language skills were poor and the staff helped us out immensely with figuring out what was going on. The room was small, but comfortable. Breakfast was expensive, skip it and go to La Poesia on Bolivar street.

shortly returned from this hotel. Can't really speak highly enough of it. Top class hotel in a great district in buenos aires. The hotel and rooms all decorated to a very high standard. Initially we asked for a quiet room but were given one fronting the street where young people partied until 4am! They then changed us to a smaller but quieter room after we complained. After a tour group had early breakfast there wasn't much left for us and they said there was no more. Leaving for early flight (5am) there was... More

We were recommended this hotel by my wife's teacher before going on our honeymoon, and I'm glad we booked it! The place is right in the middle of San Telmo, walking distance to some great restaurants and a subway stop. The layout is really unique... all the rooms are huddled around little courtyards with seating areas and fountains, although they... More

Our room (205) is a VERY small room - and was booked by a tour operator! The room was so small it was impossible to pass each other in the "walkways" in the room! The bathroom is minimalist in the extreme, but the shower was good! The toilet seat was loose which was very annoying. The hand basin had no... More

Dear Ann, Thank you for taking the time to give us your review about Patios de San Telmo. Regarding your comments, our hotel has three types of rooms (economy, standard and superior). The economy is the smallest one (12 m2) and has a shower, but in the hotel you can ask for an upgrade in case the room is not... More

Our first few days in Argentina were spent at this lovely hotel. Staying in San Telmo

Neighborhood Profile
San Telmo
Characterized by cobblestones and narrow streets, San Telmo is defined by the tango, the dance that made Buenos Aires world-famous. Tango is a fusion of many different cultures: a true child of immigration, much like the city itself. Nowadays, it comes alive after dark in the milongas (dance parties) attended by both locals and visitors alike, who dance until the wee hours of the morning. During the day, the antique shops and classic cafés and bars around Plaza Dorrego dominate the scene. The emblematic Bar Plaza Dorrego, with its green awnings, checkered tile floors, and wooden interiors, takes you back in time the moment you step inside. For true porteño traditions, San Telmo is the place to be.
