Initially stayed 3 nights, visited Iguazu Falls, and returned for 1 more night. This hotel was on the Say Hueque Tours list, and we were not disappointed. Front desk staff (day & evenings), especially Augustina, were friendly and helpful, providing us with places to eat and visit locally. Once you pass through the lobby, you enter a patio area, which... More

We stayed 5 nights in March 2015 and again for one more night in April. We were delighted with the hotel. San Telmo is an interesting area (think NYC Lower East Side) a little grubby and edgy, but safe enough, and full of interesting buildings with some great street art. Good places to eat nearby, and an all day street... More

We really enjoyed staying for 5 nights there. Great location. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Especially Esteban!! The reg.rooms are small and some of them dark but w/the upgrade of 25$ we moved into a very nice, light and spacious room. The San Telmo Restaurant staff wasnt very friendly and didnt seem to be motivated to work

We booked the hotel whilst in transit at Paris. We could not have been more pleased when we arrived. Having spent two days at the hotel on our arrival. After our tour, we chose Patio once again for six more nights at the end. Excellent service. Clean, functional, well laid out rooms. wether you decide to choose a standard or... More

The hotel is central to everything you could want to do in San Telmo. Our room was large and well appointed with excellent water pressure and hot water (not always a given in Argentina). The common areas are very pleasant and breakfast is simple, but plentiful. The staff are the real highlight. We got stuck in a strike of all... More

Patios de San Telmo is located in a beautiful building in a good location in San Telmo. All staff are helpful and speak English. Estavan was the best. He was friendly and knowledgeable and always willing to give advise and answer questions. Ask him to recommend good local restaurants (they were all great). The room was nice with the only... More

We stayed in this hotel for 4 nights in March 2015. The hotel is in a great location for exploring the city and we didn't find it noisy as mentioned in other reviews (we were street facing). The staff were excellent during our stay and they proved to be invaluable in assisting us to rebook flights during the strike at... More

We stayed at this hotel for four nights. It was a very nice hotel, very clean and with very nice service. The location is great for restaurants and some shopping. Also close to metro station. A nice little cafe/restaurant to the hotel. Missed some cosy areas for sitting and reading in the shades. The pool is very small and not... More

This hotel was really a treasure to find. We stayed here at the end of our time in Argentina and after 3 weeks of more basic accommodation were delighted with the style, fit and feel of this hotel. The accommodation is very well appointed and finished to an extremely high standard. The layout is quite unusual but it all works... More

The location of this hotel is excellent. We could walk to many parts of the city surrounding us. We felt safe everywhere we went. There are many restaurants close by, laundry, grocery stores etc. The staff were very accommodating and helpful.

Staying in San Telmo

Neighborhood Profile
San Telmo
Characterized by cobblestones and narrow streets, San Telmo is defined by the tango, the dance that made Buenos Aires world-famous. Tango is a fusion of many different cultures: a true child of immigration, much like the city itself. Nowadays, it comes alive after dark in the milongas (dance parties) attended by both locals and visitors alike, who dance until the wee hours of the morning. During the day, the antique shops and classic cafés and bars around Plaza Dorrego dominate the scene. The emblematic Bar Plaza Dorrego, with its green awnings, checkered tile floors, and wooden interiors, takes you back in time the moment you step inside. For true porteño traditions, San Telmo is the place to be.
