We stayed at this hotel as part of a tour we were on.It was great that the hotel had a buzzer system where you were buzzed in so no one could enter off the street. Upon arrival we had our luggage stored by English speaking lady. We then went for a walk came back then just discoevered the library on... More

Positives: - Staff were great and offered to help with as much as they could to my stay pleasurable -Location location location!! Aside from the Sunday market, there were many restaurants close by and a decent grocery store (Carrefour) four blocks down. Neighborhood felt safe and the main avenue of Buenos Aires was close by for a nice walk. -... More

The staff is very friendly and helpful, the building is an interesting complex, well restored. The rooms are simple but tasteful, the bathrooms very tiny. If you want to stay in San Telmo, then this is definitely an option.

This hotel was a real treat - all of the staff were really nice and helpful, especially Juan at the front desk. Our room had high ceilings and floor to ceiling doors and windows that opened onto the patio, which we loved. The design of the hotel is interesting and offers a lot of indoor and outdoor spaces to relax... More

What impressed me the most about this hotel was the excellent restoration of the old building, its design, and the attention to details (especially in the common spaces). It is a really hip place to stay and the neighborhood offers many options of nice restaurants and bars. I must admit that the fact of the sink being out of the... More

We stayed at this hotel 5 times in 31 days as Aerolineas Argentina has a hub system which requires one to fly back to BA in order to fly elsewhere in Argentina. Ruben was more than helpful each time.........instead of just buzzing us in, he would meet us at the door to help us in with the luggage. He also... More

Dear Guest, Thank you very much for your review! We are very pleased to know that you had enjoyed your time with us! Regarding the scrambled eggs, we prepare them at the moment because it is a dish that tastes better if it is prepared and served at the same time. The Good is that the hotel is located quite centrally but not in the best of streets. Also for those that like the boutique look the whole hotel is quite quaint. In addition the guy at reception I think his name is Steban is super. The bad is that the rooms are small and in summer time difficult to live in... More

Centrally located in San Telmo 10 minutes walk from Plaza Dorrego. Like many new Boutique Hotels cool decor is valued higher than functionality or practicality of a room. Staff is helpful. The breakfast in the Cafeteria next door is more than decent (for Argentinian standards). There are nice Patios to relax and a small pool is located on the roof... More

A great stay, staff were very friendly & nothing was too much trouble. Room was large, clean & comfortable. A short walk to bars & restaurants, there is a small supermarket across the road as well as a laundry service a half block away.

This is a nice and relaxed place to stay. The hotel is in a very nice place – you can literally walk to bars and restaurants. And very important: Free WiFi at all times. The architecture is beautiful. It is a good value. There is a pool on the top. The toilet is quite small – so if you are... More

Staying in San Telmo

Neighborhood Profile
San Telmo
Characterized by cobblestones and narrow streets, San Telmo is defined by the tango, the dance that made Buenos Aires world-famous. Tango is a fusion of many different cultures: a true child of immigration, much like the city itself. Nowadays, it comes alive after dark in the milongas (dance parties) attended by both locals and visitors alike, who dance until the wee hours of the morning. During the day, the antique shops and classic cafés and bars around Plaza Dorrego dominate the scene. The emblematic Bar Plaza Dorrego, with its green awnings, checkered tile floors, and wooden interiors, takes you back in time the moment you step inside. For true porteño traditions, San Telmo is the place to be.
