The hotel is well localized, very central. It is clean and confortable. it lies in front of the cementery, so in the upper floors you will have a nice view. Service is not so good, pleople are not service minded. breakfast could be more varied.

Hotel Sileo is located behind the famous Recoleta Cemetery where Eva Peron is buried. The rooms are large, with good sized bathroom and balcony. It also has a cooker, kettle and cooking utensils; perfect for times when you don’t want to eat out. Breakfast did not have a variety, just the basic. I noticed this to be the same for... More

This was our 1st visit to this wonderful city, the old conundrum, which area to stay in? After much research we settled on the Recoleta area and the Sileo Hotel, based on Tripadvisor reviews. What a gem this hotel turned out to be. The hotel though small with few amenities is across the road from Recoleta Cemetery though you have... More

The view of the cemetery is perfection if your room faces that side, and it's only a small charge to upgrade (based on availability, of course.) Restaurant and amenities leave a bit to be desired, but the hotel is clean, the staff is nice as helpful -- as a stop through or for a few day stay, this is a... More

The Hotel Sileo was our base for an entire week. Allow me to echo some of the prior reviews. The Sileo is a well run, clean, perfectly located, and a most comfortable hotel. My wife and I stayed in the pent house suite (801) and were amazed at the size, set up, and incredible view from the outdoor balcony that could... More

We spent 3 nights post cruise at this hotel. It is directly behind Recoleta Cemetery. The area is upscale and felt very safe. The hotel is very modern. Beautifully decorated. Interesting art gallery in the basement. The ninth floor has a small pool, two lounge chairs, a few chairs and tables, couple of exercise machines, and the best view of... More

We just spent 3 days and two nights here on a stopover through Mendoza. This is our third boutique hotel in Buenos Aires and it is a tremendous value considering the location in Recoleta, the size of the rooms and how quiet it was considering it's right in the middle of things. We had no problems with water, internet or... More

First, the area is great, right across from the cemetery. Great view from the higher floors. Good neighborhood. Staff were friendly and recommended/arranged tours. Breakfast was basic. Downside: one of our rooms (group of 5) had no internet working during our stay. The water stopped working in the morning, so one of us was unable to shower or use the... More

Stayed for two nights prior to heading off to Antarctica. I was pleasantly surprised at how large the rooms were. Enough for a small dining table and two chairs. Small kitchenette with dishes, cups/ glasses etc. Microwave and small 'fridge which were handy since we had leftovers. Very comfortable beds, friendly staff. We had a balcony(also good size) with a... More

We stayed in this hotel for best part of a week whilst attending a conference and were perfectly happy there though I would say it tends towards the basic rather than luxury category. Our room was spacious enough, clean and comfy and provided a good base for our trip. WiFi is free and seemed reliable. The hotel has quite a modern... More

Staying in Recoleta

Neighborhood Profile
Characterized by the French-style mansions which are the legacy of its aristocratic past, Recoleta is the true “Paris of the South.” Walking around this neighborhood is an experience like no other in Buenos Aires: its streets are lined with elegant apartment buildings, exclusive boutiques, and former mansions turned into high-end hotels and embassies, which exude an alluring air of sophistication and class. You'll also find a rich cultural scene centered on the National Museum of Fine Arts, the National Library, and the Recoleta Cultural Center; as well as some great shopping spots, like the Buenos Aires Design Mall with an artists' fair set up in Plaza Francia every weekend.
