Vero nice and comfortable place, the staff is helpful and friendly. The breakfast is good and rich. The Hostel is near to public transport and in a very nice zone of BsAs (Palermo Soho). See you soon, Play Hostel!

Play is a small hostel in the heart of Palermo. It's very nice if you want to go out at night around Cortazar Plaza (formerly Serrano) or near places, if you want a good place to work from or if you are planning a long stay in Buenos Aires. They have promotions for long stays. The hostel is attended by... More

The hostel have a great loccation but it lacks in security. There were two guys living there and first I thought they were friendly but in the end I found out they were stealing lots of things. Staff didn't seem to care. Bedrooms and bathrooms not nice either.

We stayed here for 3 nights. All the other hostels we have stayed in are much cleaner and the staff are a lot more friendly and helpful. Not to say the staff were unfriendly, but they will not go that extra mile for you. Breakfast is bad. But if you like white bread with dolce de leche then maybe it's... More

I arrived around midnight on a Saturday night and unfortunately Hostel World lost my reservation. The hostel was fully booked, so I didn't have a bed. This was the fault of Hostel World....not Play Hostel. Play Hostel worked extremely hard and found a place for me to sleep. The employee was willing to give me her own bed, however managed... More

I spent almost a month in Play Hostel. It is perfectly located, the staff is really nice and helpful, the breakfast is amazing! Great vibe, great place! I recommend it to anyone visiting Buenos Aires. It is the best in town! Constance

The service was ok, and the prices were very fair but this hostel didn't exactly have a lot to offer and wasn't very clean. There are 3 bathrooms to be shared among all guests and I wouldn't exactly describe them as cleanly either (by hostel expectations even) Didn't find the other people staying there to be very friendly but I... Dirty, smelly, rude staff. not much else to say. Staff sit up all night yabbering in the communal courtyard, which is surrounded by the dorms. Thus making it impossible to sleep as the walls are paper thin. Bathroom is always dank and wet.

I booked this hostel because I needed to be near Palermo. I booked a mixed dorm for six people but, when I arrived, I was told there was only place in a room for ten people, which was horrible and dirty. Dirty and abandoned is the general look of the place. Particular point for lockers, that are totally insecure. The... More

The best thing about this hostel is that it is well-located in Palermo, a pretty cool neighbourhood of Buenos Aires. Within 10 minutes is the metro station that can take you to downtown. The staff are friendly and helpful for the most part. Their blue market exchange rate is not great if you want to pay in US dollars but... More

Staying in Palermo

Neighborhood Profile
Palermo
Best known as the largest neighborhood in Buenos Aires, Palermo is divided into different quarters, each with its own unique identity. The high-end quarter is Palermo Chico, characterized by magnificent mansions, regal avenues, and exclusive apartment buildings, and home to the Museum of Latin American Art of Buenos Aires (MALBA), a favorite amongst locals. The largest park in the city, the Bosques de Palermo, is Palermo's most famous landmark and a popular destination for nature walks, picnics, rollerblading, and cycling. The scene becomes much trendier in Palermo Soho, a hip area known for its cool cafés and unique design stores, filled with shoppers on weekends; and Palermo Hollywood, renowned for the numerous restaurants, bars and nightclubs, which make it the preferred spot for nights out and special occasions.
