Pros: The location is excellent! On Sunday the San Telmo market is right outside in front of the B&B, so if you're planning to shop a lot it's convenient to buy things and drop them off in your room if the load gets too heavy! The price is very reasonable for the area, and includes free wifi and breakfast. The... More

...the very best stay in San Telmo ! After visiting for the last 3 years (and coming back every year for a reason !) We've lost our baggage between Amsterdam and Buenos Aires, but Juan was very helpful in getting it back. As at every of our visits, our Room was very clean and there is nothing, nothing to complain... More

Once in a while you just have one of those great travel experiences and this was it for us. Perfectly located and very reasonably priced. It's a guesthouse not a hotel but the thing that sets it apart is the service. Our hosts couldn't have been more helpful and went so far beyond anything we could reasonably expect. If you... More

Stayed there with a boyfriend. The hosts were very very kind and polite. This place is perfect to let you know the core of San telmo and very close to Buenos Aires downtown. this b&b is not fancy, but less expensive than a hotel too. Breakfast could be better but was ok. Bed was nice, during the night we had... More

Our Hosts, Juan & Marcela were so friendly and we've again (after our visit in the last year) had a warm welcome despite of our late Arrival at 9pm. We've got the Room at the very top of the House, with a nice, separated terrace overlooking Defensa Street. Breakfast consists of Sandwiches de Miga and Medialunas, Coffe and Juice, so... More

Home San Telmo resembled more a hostel than a B&B however the location was excellent to discover San Telmo and the hosts were exceptionally helpful with local knowledge, tips and advice to discover BA. We only wished there was a bar fridge in the room to keep our drinks cool and our snacks fresh. It's basic but it's well placed and... More

We stayed there at the beginning and at the end of our trip. The hosts were really helpful and made a lot of valuable recommendations regarding our onward journey. Breakfast is good and served on the rooftop terrace or in your room upon request. On Sundays there's an antiques market right in front of the house (be aware of the... More

We've had a very good stay here. This is a B&B so we knew not to expect all the facilities of a hotel. We had a comfortable bed and good shower with plenty of hot water whenever we needed it, everything kept clean and inviting. Everything looks better than the unmarked door and first flight of stairs might make some... More

I made a reservation on Venere.com and received confirmation from property. A few hours later I received a message from the property stating that my reservation had been canceled as I had requested. In that message they attached the cancellation policies stating that I would have to pay for first night. The problem is that I never requested to cancel... More

This place could be so great, just needs to clean up the entrance way (it was quite dirty when we were there) put some plants in the hallways and on the terrace and properly fix the rooms. The owners were on hols when we stayed and their sister was looking after the place. She was really helpful, got more towels... More

Staying in San Telmo

Neighborhood Profile
San Telmo
Characterized by cobblestones and narrow streets, San Telmo is defined by the tango, the dance that made Buenos Aires world-famous. Tango is a fusion of many different cultures: a true child of immigration, much like the city itself. Nowadays, it comes alive after dark in the milongas (dance parties) attended by both locals and visitors alike, who dance until the wee hours of the morning. During the day, the antique shops and classic cafés and bars around Plaza Dorrego dominate the scene. The emblematic Bar Plaza Dorrego, with its green awnings, checkered tile floors, and wooden interiors, takes you back in time the moment you step inside. For true porteño traditions, San Telmo is the place to be.
