The Tiana is a stylish and nice little hotel, where you can relax and find peace. It has a personal atmosphere, at least in 2012, when we stayed there. The owners are and recepcionists were very helpful and friendly. The rooms are very clean and have good nice furniture and decoration. I hope, that the prices are still good and... More

I had a great experience here. There were lovely courtyard gardens which made the space feel very open. Internet connection was somewhat poor in the room, but fine outside of the room. Bathroom could use a fresh coat of paint but I wasn't complaining given that there was a deep tub with jets in it. Bed was very comfy, room... More

A lovely little place that was great for a week exploring BA. 4 stars thanks to the staff and location, lost out on minor room deficiencies. Pro's: - Ideal location a couple of mins walk from plaza dorrego the main plaza in San telmo and defensa, the Main Street. Plenty of bars, restaurants, cafés, pastry shops, minimarts. - Lovely staff,... More

This hotel is gold! The people here are so friendly, we really felt welcome. The manager, Susana, speaks perfect English and she is so enthusiastic, she really thinks with you what sites to see and where to go when. Also the location, in the center of San Telmo, is perfect. Before going to Buenos Aires we heard some bad stories... More

It's not a deluxe boutique hotel by any stretch of the imagination, but it is in a central position in BA and the price reflects its facilities. The service and advice was always very helpful and friendly. The bedroom looked a little tired, but did the business. It had a safe, wifi access and there was pleasant seating in communual... More

Susanah and staff were excellent at Tiana, they were always helpful, from assisting to clean up a broken wine bottle in luggage to restaurants and other assistance. One improvement could be the quality of the breakfast, whilst a good selection, the quality of the breads, croissants and eggs could be better.

When i go to abroad for vacation, i prefer to stay boutique hotels. Because their service is better than the bigger hotels' service. Again, i was right for this selection. The hotel was well located and the staff was very friendly. I enjoyed during my vacation.

I was in Buenos Aires for 2 weeks, and stayed at Hotel Tiana. I enjoyed my stay very much. The owner was very easy to work with, and made a point to help me out whenever I needed advice on the neighborhood, transportation, etc. The room was new, very nice, and extremely clean. I felt that the hotel was quite... More

The Tiana has a great location, just a couple of minutes walk from Plaza Dorrego in San Telmo. The common spaces are beautiful done up and, as the photos show, it's a pleasant place to spend some time. We found the rooms to be slightly less inspiring. Towards the back, it feels very much like you're staying in some sort... More

Staying in San Telmo

Neighborhood Profile
San Telmo
Characterized by cobblestones and narrow streets, San Telmo is defined by the tango, the dance that made Buenos Aires world-famous. Tango is a fusion of many different cultures: a true child of immigration, much like the city itself. Nowadays, it comes alive after dark in the milongas (dance parties) attended by both locals and visitors alike, who dance until the wee hours of the morning. During the day, the antique shops and classic cafés and bars around Plaza Dorrego dominate the scene. The emblematic Bar Plaza Dorrego, with its green awnings, checkered tile floors, and wooden interiors, takes you back in time the moment you step inside. For true porteño traditions, San Telmo is the place to be.
