Two blocks from Avenida 9 de Julio and another two away from Congress, Hotel Mundial is a good low budget option in the city center. Rooms are big and clean, breakfast is good. On the down side, the corner of Avenida de Mayo and Santiago del Estero is rather noisy and all rooms face the street, making them rather noisy.... More

When you are on a tight budget, and you have found Hotel Mundial in Buenos Aires, you dont have to waist your time to find something else. You can not find a better price for what you get here. The hotel is located between the Congresso and the Obelisk, next to a good range of restaurants (there are 2 of... More

This hotel is perfectly located. It's a magnificent building from last century. It has an old charm. The staircase and the elevator looks like you are in an old movie. However it visible didn't receive any invested in quite a few years. The rooms are extremely disappointing. More than just basic. If you are looking for comfort you shouldn't stay... More

This really is one of the worst hotels that I've ever been to. Unfortunately, my mother needed to stay at this hotel that did not have air conditioning, dirty, bad service, the rooms humid and smelly. Even though it's not the hotels fault they went without light for a day. The humidity of such an old building made it seem... More

Very good hotel. excellent location, good price and kind service. would stay there again. Subway one block away, touristic attractions nearby. Sometimes the elevator gets stucked and you have to walk the steps.

I only gave this hotel three stars because it's not the most clean or comfortable place you could be. However, the location was PERFECT. I was able to see everything I wanted in the city by walking within the ten days I was there. The staff were very courteous and helpful and spoke great English. Breakfast was included and we... First things first ,the hotel is in a good location and is reasonably priced. However the hotel building is run down ,rooms are damp and smelly. Our bathroom flooded twice with sewage and there was fleas in the bed. I would recommend sleeping in the subway across the road rather than this place.

The 2 stars rating is fair enough for this hotel located nearby most tourist places in central Buenos Aires. I spent a night with a couple of men friends but I will not go with my wife there. The interior of the building needs to be updated, breakfast is average and the wifi connection was poor in room 606.

Bad location right in the middle of Buenos Aires, it is close to the Puerto Maderos and the cruise port , not a place where you want to be walking at night, lots of homeless and drug addicts . At 39.00 US dollars it is a bargain but u guess you get what you paid for. Dirty and very small... More

The hotel is located central in Buenos Aires. The people in the hotel are excellent and very friendly. The rooms equipped with everything necessary. The price for this location is more then good. I really recommend this place.

Staying in Montserrat

Neighborhood Profile
As part of the historic quarter of Buenos Aires, Montserrat is defined by the historical events that took place there and the landmarks that have stood the test of time. The Plaza de Mayo is at the center of this connection to history: countless public demonstrations have passed through this square, going back to the May Revolution of 1810. Walking the streets of Montserrat allows us to imagine what Buenos Aires may have looked like in the past: the Cabildo takes us back to the late 16th century, while the Palacio Barolo and the traditional cafés carry us to the early 20th. Nowadays, the neighborhood is inundated every day by office workers, buses, and taxis; still, the cobblestones, narrow sidewalks, and subway stations from the 1910s remind us that we are surrounded by history everywhere we look.
