The hostel is well placed in the pictoresque Barrio of San telmo 5 minutes walking from the main road 9 de julio with lots of buses to the city center/bus/train station and 1 practical metro station too ( Independencia ) but This isn`t the only positive side of this hostel. What you will find is a competent bunch of very friendly... Great Hostel. Everyone was so great and it made me feel like I was at home! I was here a year ago and there are some insane improvements! The new bar is fantastic and the kitchen actually fits more than 2 people! You definitely get more than what you pay for! The front desk staff really know about the city... More

It smelled like smoke. It also was not in a nice area and the lockers were not in the room. Not much of an atmosphere for meeting people. Breakfast was not bad. The rooms were nice and large. It was an ok place but because of the smell and location would not recommend.

I had an awesome time at this hostel. It'´s great place to meet other travellers...there is something going on at the bar every night, and the best is Friday beer pong. They'd just finished putting in a new bar and kitchen when I got there. Especially considering how low the price is for the good quality you get, I'd recommend... More

Stayed at PAX in 2010 and returned in 2014 to see if things were still as cheap and fun. Not only had the place stayed the same, but most of the staff had also stayed on after four years. Good location, walking distance of the markets/restaurants in San Telmo, Obelisco, Plaza de Mayo, Casa Rosada. It's also just around the... More

A great cheap hostel in the middle of San Telmo. Staff are friendly and the reception is open 24hrs. The rooms are large and have air conditioning. The hostel has good security and there is a Bar in basement which is handy. Breakfast is not that good. There is a party vibe about the place.

This was a cheap place to stay, and I felt like I got what I paid for. The dorm was pretty big and there wasn't a lot of space, but it was perfectly sufficient. The breakfast was ok, but the basement (where it was served) was a bit gloomy. But no major complaints. Overall, it was good value for money.

I really enjoyed my time at Pax hostel. The staff were helpful and really friendly! Very easy to meet friends here because of the bar area which has some fun nights on too. Liked the area, and it's really close to the metro station. I recommend this place to everyone.

This is surely one of the cheapest places you will find in Buenos Aires and for what you pay, it does the job. Don't expect cleanliness, luxury or a dead central location and you will be satisfied. The staff are welcoming and happy to help out in anyway - beer pong on offer, drinks together, recommendations for nights out /... More

My first time in PAX was in January and we just got back. Pax is not a party hostel but it's definitely for drinkers. So if you don't want to get a beer and chat... forget it, not your place. They organize activities almost every night in the basement, pizza, empanadas, beer pong games and more. The beds are comfy,... More
