My two friends and I booked for two nights, one in December and one in January as Buenos Aires was a transit city for our destination down south. I am not sure I will call it a hotel, but it is more like a B&B. The fenced door was locked with a questionable door bell that you were not sure... More

We feel sorry our customers were unable to appreciate our concept of turism. Rugantino is maybe not suitable for late night arrivals and for one night stay/transit. We apologize the day of arrival last December, there ware a not welcome English-speaking staff temporarily on vacation. The customers, even though the staff had found another hotel for their needs, thay had... More

We stayed at Rugantino because it was a nice, reasonably-priced hotel in a very convenient location. I have to say, the staff are all very friendly and nice. The breakfast is good and even though most of it is self-service, we did not have any problems if we wanted something else. The rooms are small, the attached bathroom even smaller... More

I was a guest at Rugantino in august/2014 for four nights and it was a good experience. The hotel is one of Palermo's old houses that was turned into a hotel, so it feels very cozy and it is charming. The owners run the hotel and they were always very nice, polite and available - and I can say that... More

We stayed at Rugantino for 5 nights in May. The location was terrific - in Palermo, close to great shopping and dining and easy access to cabs for wherever we did not want to walk. The rooms themselves were fine as was the breakfast - certainly good enough for the low price. There was quite a bit of street noise,... More

I read the reviews after our trip, then wondered, "Were we at the same B&B?" The professional photos seem to have been taken a long time ago. Our room was small and in need of a new coat of paint. The "distressed" furniture motif just seemed old. The patio furniture was mildewed and some was broken. The owner was very... More

Once you step inside, this little place is quite different from how it appears on the outside. The room was clean and comfortable if perhaps a little minimalist. A nice rooftop deck and wifi. Breakfast was good, and best of all, the staff were very friendly and helpful. A close walk to many excellent restaurants and music venues. Not too... More

My wife and I stayed here for 1 night, after booking our stay in advance. When we arrived, we found the couple who own the hotel to be very pleasant, friendly and welcoming despite the language barrier created by my failure to remember most of my HS Spanish. They were very happy to help us by calling a tour company... More

This is a lovely hotel with a courtyard and stairs leading up to very nice rooms. The owners are very friendly and helpful. It is well located, close to many restaurants, easy to walk to the metro up maybe 7 blocks. The breakfasts were excellent and plentiful. A woman there will cook eggs to order.

Service and quality were excellent. Employees and owners were really helpfull and kind. They helped us out with everything we wanted to know about the city and our further journey in Argentina and Uruguay. We can definetely recommend this hotel for a city trip stay in Buenos Aires.

From the moment we arrived, we had a fantastic experience at the Rugantino Hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms quaint and well appointed. And the location was quite good-near many of the things my friends and I desired to do. I would definitely return should my travels find me lucky enough to be in Buenos Aires... More

Staying in Palermo

Neighborhood Profile
Palermo
Best known as the largest neighborhood in Buenos Aires, Palermo is divided into different quarters, each with its own unique identity. The high-end quarter is Palermo Chico, characterized by magnificent mansions, regal avenues, and exclusive apartment buildings, and home to the Museum of Latin American Art of Buenos Aires (MALBA), a favorite amongst locals. The largest park in the city, the Bosques de Palermo, is Palermo's most famous landmark and a popular destination for nature walks, picnics, rollerblading, and cycling. The scene becomes much trendier in Palermo Soho, a hip area known for its cool cafés and unique design stores, filled with shoppers on weekends; and Palermo Hollywood, renowned for the numerous restaurants, bars and nightclubs, which make it the preferred spot for nights out and special occasions.
