We came there a bit before the check-in time as we were arranged to get rooms earlier - unfortunately it was not arranged. When finally we got the rooms, they were really nice & clean but ... no hot water readily available: it took some time to arrange. Nice place on the ground floor to gather in the evening &... More

Just good. There's nothing to add :) except for the pool and the pool table maybe. And the clean rooms, comfy mattresses and all the other stuff I could add to reach the minimum of two hundred letters needed for the review. Still not done. The breakfast is one of the best in South America!

Good location from where we could walk to most places of interest. A backpacker vibe with a common area with sofas on the bottom floor. The private rooms were clean and comfortable as a hotel room. Breakfast was fine.

Family of 6. Kids between 11-17. Booked the 4 bed dormitory for the kids, which has its own bath. Booked a single room with double bed and private bath for myself and the wife. Wifi worked in the rooms. Hot water. Pretty quiet. Showers drain slow. Breakfast free (coffee and pastries). If u want eggs and meats, u pay more.... More

I stayed at the Circus Hostel for one night while visiting Buenos Aires. This is a well run hostel with a good atmosphere, in an interesting neighbourhood. Rooms were relatively clean, the bed was comfortable, although the room was on the hot side. Wifi was free and reliable. Staff were friendly and check in was quick and easy. The breakfast... More

Nice hostel in beautiful San Telmo, 2 streets away from the sunday market and a short walk to Metro Independencia. Friendly staff, comfortable beds, modern (but super tiny) bathrooms and very clean. Generous breakfast. Pool area. The only downside is that there is no kitchen for you to cook. Dorm bed AR$165 (room of 4)

My wife and I were expecting a great stay, given the good reviews here. Sadly, we were let down. From the moment we arrived at the Circus, the smell of cannabis permeated the air. People were smoking everywhere, especially around the pool deck. Staff did nothing about it. I'm not making a judgement about whether people should smoke cannabis. I'm... More

So I spent 2 weeks here, on and off, as it was my base for bumping around Argentina. I kept coming back cause it was that good. The staff were amazing. I asked them every insane question and they always were friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and spacious. The breakfast was good with a nice selection of tea... More

Good stay in this hostel with nice staff, good location in San Telmo and a little swimming pool which can be nice whan it is hot. Breakfast is good even though there is lot of people. I recommand this hostel.

Staying in San Telmo

Neighborhood Profile
San Telmo
Characterized by cobblestones and narrow streets, San Telmo is defined by the tango, the dance that made Buenos Aires world-famous. Tango is a fusion of many different cultures: a true child of immigration, much like the city itself. Nowadays, it comes alive after dark in the milongas (dance parties) attended by both locals and visitors alike, who dance until the wee hours of the morning. During the day, the antique shops and classic cafés and bars around Plaza Dorrego dominate the scene. The emblematic Bar Plaza Dorrego, with its green awnings, checkered tile floors, and wooden interiors, takes you back in time the moment you step inside. For true porteño traditions, San Telmo is the place to be.
