Helpful front desk, they have ordered a taxi to the airport. Room as advertised. Nice antique elevator system. Good location in the centre of Buenos Aires. Good shopping & restaurants nearby. Breakfast was pretty basic.

Lets face it all hotels do a job irrespective of price, location or amenities. To be frank I don't usually rave very often because we have travelled extensively for in excess of 40 years (not continually) & it take a small miracle to impress me. Just occasionally if you are lucky enough you find one that deserves a special mention.... More

I think that monaca hotel is a very good hotel for the price I paid. The room was clean, private bathroom. Nothing fancy. the employees we're helpful. The breakfast was no more than ok. The location is perfect. Very close to Buquebus if you need to take the boat.

Well placed hotel in city centre near to many eating places, coffee shops and the Galerias Pacificos. Rooms are small but clean and comfortable and the very necessary air conditioning worked OK despite the higher than usual temperatures. Rooms have a fridge and small minibar. Wi fi was also OK. All the staff were friendly and helpful and can help... More

This hotel was in a great location, very close to the main shopping area of Florida St and Galerias Pacificas. Our triple room was fairly small but facilities were adequate. The reception area was very tiny and cramped with nowhere to sit, or even stand, while waiting for a taxi. Recommended for those on a budget who want to stay in... More

Our travel agent booked this as a 4 star hotel, this it was not. A good location for central Buenos Aires, staff friendly and helpful. The room was okay, air conditioning good. Breakfast was not too good, just a basic choice. Road around quite dark with lots of rubbish on the street, however did not feel unsafe.

Simple hotel, but very good bedrooms. Very close to Florida St., Galeria Pacifico and to Puerto Madero, however the street itself is a little dark/strange to go around at night. As very good and clean bedrooms. Has very good bathroom. Has a simple but good continental breakfast. Wi-fi is available also in the bedroom.

It's a good option if you're having a short or low cost trip. Although the street is kind of dark, the hotel is very close to Puerto Madero (a couple of blocks away) and a 20min walk to Casa Rosada. Also, is very close to Leandro M Alem subway station which for us was great, 'cause we could go anywhere.... More

It's a good choice if you have to stay a couple of nights in BA. Very good location. Just a couple of blocks from the seaport, downtown and Puerto Madero. The surroundings are not too safe to walk at night tough. The building it's quite old, but well restored. The rooms feel a little bit cramped. Decent service and friendly... More

Staying in San Nicolas

Neighborhood Profile
San Nicolas
Immersed in the sound of honking horns and the footsteps of busy office workers, the Microcentro area of San Nicolás is where visitors will encounter the true hustle and bustle of Buenos Aires, walking down streets lined with office buildings and banks. The financial district is well-known for its vibrant atmosphere and unstoppable rhythm during office hours. After dark, the hubbub migrates to Corrientes Ave., where theater lovers might start their evening at a play and end it in one of the many traditional pizzerias nearby. During the day, Corrientes is known for its many bookshops and classic cafés, which are located just minutes away from some famous landmarks, like the Obelisco, Avenida 9 de Julio, and the Teatro Colon.
