First hostel I stayed in in South America. Good location in San Telmo, there's a Subte station a few minutes away. Helpful staff, good wifi, kitchen is ok but needs a bit of a clean, comfy beds which get made every day, clean rooms, breakfast is pretty good, and nice communal area.

pros: in the great barrio of san telmo! always clean good breakfast (if you stay for many days, it may be repetitive) safe good prices (from 130 to 150 pesos in dorms) helpful staff open back yard close to downtown B.A. cons: a little noisy from the kitchen in the mornings and from the street

Hostel is in San Telmo. It is near the port to Colonia. It is a bit of a walk to the main places like Teatro Colon but there is subway station near the hostel. It is a good base to explore Buenos Aires. The breakfast is okay, it needs fruit and more variety in the food. Hostel needs to be... More

My partner and I stayed at the hostel in a private room for 6 nights. We found the hostel to be in a great location. Close to bus stations etc and plenty of restaurants etc around the area. We had a private room with ensuite which was very nice and clean. Kitchen had everything you needed. My only bad things... More

The outside courtyard is closed from midnight onwards. THE COMMON AREA INSIDE THE HOSTEL is also CLOSED at MIDNIGHT. This means everyone is essentially SENT TO BED at MIDNIGHT - this very strange hostel curfew is something I have never experienced in my year of world travels and since I was a 3-year-old living under my parents' rules. The night... More

Getting to BA on a bus is exhausting, this hostal is filled with chill people and super friendly staff. The night i arrived they were having an asado and invited us all to join it was awesome. Staff has a bunch of suggestions of where to go, great location close to the bus station and surrounded with cool street art.

I stayed in puerto limon hostel for almost two weeks after a recommendation from friends who had stayed there several years previously. The hostel is well located in the old district of San telmo and the hostel provides maps and excursion information. I stayed in the cheapest dorm room which was right beside the front door and staircase. The ladies... More

Great location and really good value for money. You can walk most places and the subway is close to get to Palermo. Great breakfast. Staff helpful told us how to get to airport, how to get a bus to la boca, happy to book taxis for us. Would highly recommend!

I stayed for 5 days in mid-December in a 6-bed dorm. They have AC in the dorm, which is useful during the summer months, but you'd have to ask the front counter for the remote. The breakfast was good: bread and dulce de leche with some coffee and juice. The kitchen is spacious and the patio is gorgeous. Other than... More

Staying in San Telmo

Neighborhood Profile
San Telmo
Characterized by cobblestones and narrow streets, San Telmo is defined by the tango, the dance that made Buenos Aires world-famous. Tango is a fusion of many different cultures: a true child of immigration, much like the city itself. Nowadays, it comes alive after dark in the milongas (dance parties) attended by both locals and visitors alike, who dance until the wee hours of the morning. During the day, the antique shops and classic cafés and bars around Plaza Dorrego dominate the scene. The emblematic Bar Plaza Dorrego, with its green awnings, checkered tile floors, and wooden interiors, takes you back in time the moment you step inside. For true porteño traditions, San Telmo is the place to be.
