Getting to BA on a bus is exhausting, this hostal is filled with chill people and super friendly staff. The night i arrived they were having an asado and invited us all to join it was awesome. Staff has a bunch of suggestions of where to go, great location close to the bus station and surrounded with cool street art.

I stayed in puerto limon hostel for almost two weeks after a recommendation from friends who had stayed there several years previously. The hostel is well located in the old district of San telmo and the hostel provides maps and excursion information. I stayed in the cheapest dorm room which was right beside the front door and staircase. The ladies... More

Great location and really good value for money. You can walk most places and the subway is close to get to Palermo. Great breakfast. Staff helpful told us how to get to airport, how to get a bus to la boca, happy to book taxis for us. Would highly recommend!

I stayed for 5 days in mid-December in a 6-bed dorm. They have AC in the dorm, which is useful during the summer months, but you'd have to ask the front counter for the remote. The breakfast was good: bread and dulce de leche with some coffee and juice. The kitchen is spacious and the patio is gorgeous. Other than... More

Only had 2 nights booked and as we liked it so much we cancelled our other hostel to stay here at Puerto Limon. We felt at home and very safe the area is nice and feels South American. The staff are very helpful, the place is clean & you can tell the owners take care of it. Everyone we met... More

I stayed here for over a week. This hostel has such a lovely family cosy feel to it. There were great people staying and it felt so relaxed and easy going. There are big lockers in each room and also smaller ones downstairs too. The breakfast is fine the same as everywhere in BA really. Can not recommend this hostel... More

Great hostel in the heart of shabby chic San Telmo, with (for the most part) friendly staff, a great atmosphere, decent breakfast, excellent kitchen, and dorms which are comfy if a little cramped. The lovely rear courtyard is a great place to hang, especially when the staff do one of their evening BBQs. Only whinges would be some of the... More

Puerto Limon is a very nice and cosy hostel in the centre of Buenos Aires. There is a very nice common area with comfortable sofas and couches which opens into very nice courtyard. The place tempt to spend there days and nights relaxing. The only disatvantage of this place is, that right at this courtyard there are doors leading into... More

I stayed there for 3 nights and was really surprised how rrlaxed the environment is there. Also meet many backpackers from all over the world and got to know some amazing people. The kitchen is really big and the breakfasts are good also. Everything you need in a hostel.

Only stayed one night at this hostel but thought that the staff were very helpful and the hostel would be a good place to stay for a couple more nights. Very good sociable communal areas, good size double and clean. If looking for a place in the San Telmo area of BA would recommend this hostel.

Staying in San Telmo

Neighborhood Profile
San Telmo
Characterized by cobblestones and narrow streets, San Telmo is defined by the tango, the dance that made Buenos Aires world-famous. Tango is a fusion of many different cultures: a true child of immigration, much like the city itself. Nowadays, it comes alive after dark in the milongas (dance parties) attended by both locals and visitors alike, who dance until the wee hours of the morning. During the day, the antique shops and classic cafés and bars around Plaza Dorrego dominate the scene. The emblematic Bar Plaza Dorrego, with its green awnings, checkered tile floors, and wooden interiors, takes you back in time the moment you step inside. For true porteño traditions, San Telmo is the place to be.
