We reserved a room for 5 persons and they gave us a room where they put a mattress (dirty and broken) on the floor. For my health I preferred to not have breakfast there. In BA you can find many better hostels at the same price.

I wouldn't have fed the breakfast to my dog. The old female boss was the most unfriendly person we met in 8 months travel in South America, very money hungary and asked us constantly to pay each night...even at 2am. Pay a bit more and enjoy your stay!

The location is the only good thing about this hostel. The rest is a nightmare. My passport was stolen from my briefcase while using that filthy bathroom, my camera and my python cowboy boots were stolen while I was sleeping. The owner never takes responsibility for anything. A Danish couple had their things stolen, iPhone, iPod and a leather bag. Very... More

So having booked it on hostel bookers where it was advertised for 40 Pessos a night me and my friends were very excited to find such a cheap hostel but how wrong we could be! The 40 pesso did not include anything we then found ourself paying extra for sheets, aircon and using the cooker to cook supper which came... More

Quite cheap, good breakfast service, clean room, nice shared area layout. Negative is that there are not lockers for your bags if you check out and then still want to hang around down town for the day. You ll have to leave your bags in the middle of the reception, on the visitors' side, which is not so safe.

This was by far the worst place and worst experience in all of my South American travels. I booked them on hostel bookers and was glad to find a cheap place in Palermo that had 7 consecutive nights I could stay there in the same room. I was there in August 2013, and couldnt find any other hostel with those... More

Seem this hostel has bad reviews but I'm glad I saw this after I stayed there. I found it by coincidence after arriving in Palermo without having booked anything and it was a great stay for 5 days. The staff were really helpful when I needed something and the place was always kept clean and the beds were surprisingly comfortable.... More

I booked this hostel because I saw it advertised in the South American Explorers newsletter and assumed they endorsed it -- should have known it was a bad idea when they charged the full cost upfront via Western Union. I really couldn't find another good option in Palermo offering a triple room for a decent price, but I wish I'd... More

***DO NOT STAY HERE.*** The ONLY good thing about this hostel is the location. From the moment we walked in the door, the whole experience at SoHostel was horrible. They charged us 25% more than the advertised price, then yelled at us when we tried to discuss the discrepency. We asked for a private quad room, and got a room... More

I was here just one night, I can say that the room was clean, the building has full potential but has not been properly refurnished so it looks old and without maintenance. At least our room was very dark. I checked other hostels in the neighborhood and you can find best quality for the same price.

Staying in Palermo

Neighborhood Profile
Best known as the largest neighborhood in Buenos Aires, Palermo is divided into different quarters, each with its own unique identity. The high-end quarter is Palermo Chico, characterized by magnificent mansions, regal avenues, and exclusive apartment buildings, and home to the Museum of Latin American Art of Buenos Aires (MALBA), a favorite amongst locals. The largest park in the city, the Bosques de Palermo, is Palermo's most famous landmark and a popular destination for nature walks, picnics, rollerblading, and cycling. The scene becomes much trendier in Palermo Soho, a hip area known for its cool cafés and unique design stores, filled with shoppers on weekends; and Palermo Hollywood, renowned for the numerous restaurants, bars and nightclubs, which make it the preferred spot for nights out and special occasions.
