We loved our three-day stay at Casa Calma. This small boutique hotel that is confortable, well-located, quiet and peaceful, and has the most fabulous courteous and helpful staff. Wecould not have asked for more!

We loved this hotel. We only stayed for one night but I wish it had been longer. Service was brilliant staff could no do enough for us. Our room was a great size and included a sauna and whirlpool which was a first for me! It was so relaxing. The bed was huge and incredibly comfortable. My only small issue... More

This is a lovely small (ca 30 rooms) boutique hotel in an excellent location with nice, well furnished rooms and above all a careing, helpful and friendly staff. The location at Suipacha is quiet and in walking distance to many of the famous landmarks like Av. 9 de Julio (Teatro Colon, the Obelisk,), Recoleta, the 'Florida' street (withe the characteristics... Just returned from Buenos Aires. We stayed in a Deluxe room at the CasaCalma and were really impressed. It's only a small hotel but for the price you pay, you get a great room and terrific service. The desk staff all spoke excellent English, were friendly and went out of their way to help. The room was impressive - large... More

We stayed at this delightful hotel twice on our recent holiday. It is in an interesting part of the city and we had some great walks from the hotel. The staff were fantastic giving us advice about safety and where to eat and shop. We really enjoyed both rooms we were given. The simple breakfasts were more than adequate and... More

As the name says, it's a calm hotel, quiet, nice and cozy. The service was excellent! Besides, it's close to the center (though you don't feel it) and to a small Carrefour market, where you can buy some food and water to go walk through Buenos Aires and explore the best of the city.

We got here after flying overnight. I was a little concerned when our driver took us down a narrow street between tall buildings. Where was this hotel that we had read so much about? When we go there, the entrance seemed modest and impossibly small for the reputation of the hotel. There was nothing to worry about! We were checked... More

You're looking at this review for a reason, the same reason I read about hotels in Buenos Aires before booking my first stay outside of the U.S. I am the epitome of picky when it comes to hotels - I want clean, secure, quiet places with pleasant staff. Casa Calma has all that times ten. Bottom line? Book here, you... More

We chose Casa Calma based on their excellent Trip Advisor reviews, and it definitely lived up to the expectations. They arranged a transfer from the airport ($25 USD, a little more expensive than a taxi but saves you the concern about being scammed by a taxi driver, which is apparently common). On arrival, we were greeted by Rodrigo and Diago,... More

CasaCalma was a real delight. We were only in town for 3 nights, but they were very helpful and very friendly. The room was super (we stayed in 602): comfortable bed, very nice bath area. Although "downtown," you'd never know it. Close to many of the "sights". We'd definitely stay here again on our next trip to BA!

Staying in Retiro

Neighborhood Profile
Retiro
Exquisite palaces and luxurious apartment buildings combine with art galleries and exclusive boutiques to make Retiro the perfect spot for those who enjoy sophistication. However, the non-stop foot traffic to and from Retiro train and bus terminals, accompanied by the myriad of trucks leaving and arriving at the port, mean this neighborhood is never truly at rest. One minute you are walking down a street dotted with ornate mansions and luxurious shop windows and the next you find yourself surrounded by a sea of people racing to catch their train or bus. It is this juxtaposition of never-ending comings and goings and quiet, elegant luxury that defines Retiro, as well as Buenos Aires, a city where sharp contrasts are all around.
