This is quite a unique hotel. You have to ring the doorbell to be allowed in and you also have to wait for the front desk staff when you step out. In a way, it's nice to have that personalized service, but sometimes, you just want to get in and out without bothering anybody. The room was small and I'm... More

I booked to stay at the hotel babel boutique last Nov after carefully reviewing the rating on trip advisor. Unfortunately like other review/ travellers we had a 'maintenance problem' with the boutique hotel and they 'kindly' offered us the alternative hotel babel suites. Unfortunately we did not have long enough to look up reviews but very quickly realised like others... More

Babel was located in a great location near many bars and restaurants. The hotel was very clean and offered a fantastic breakfast in the morning. The staff made this location that much better as the receptionist was quick to point us in the direction of great restaurants and tourist destinations. I would definitely stay there again.

I loved the area, it's bars and cafes and it was a delight to stay in a traditional house. Yes, the only Windows are only the inner courtyard but for a couple of nights it felt like a far more fun place to be. The staff were all incredibly helpful and fluent in English and really tried to make the... More

Yes, it's in the oldest neighborhood in BA, which does not look in the greatest shape, but the location is great, the service very good, and the staff very friendly and helpful. We were there on a Sunday and able to enjoy the Sunday [Antiques] Market along Calla Defensa. The antiques are mainly in the square and the market along... More

After two weeks in Argentina and exploring all over Buenos Aires, my husband and I agreed we wished we had not chosen to stay in this neighborhood. I have traveled extensively around the world, often by myself, and I'm not prissy about where I stay. But we chose BA as the "Paris of the south," hoping for beautiful architecture, cafe-lined... We stayed here on two occasions, a couple of weeks apart. Our first room was number 2, which we recommend. It is a reasonably large and well furnished room on the ground floor. While it has no window, it opens into the indoor atrium through pleasant shutter doors. On the second occasion, our room was on the first floor, room... More

Not a luxury hotel experience, but a good friendly place in the center of San Telmo. Lack of windows but fairly clean and quiet. All the basics for a stay in San Telmo. AND Hotel Babel is purple -- very purple, which makes it easy to find and makes you smile.

There were no windows in our room, only the room's main door which opened into the public patio so Miguel gave us room number 8 with windows. It felt a bit like a hostel. The room hadn't been cleaned or the bed linen changed so we wondered why LAS Argentinië booked us again such a basic place...
