I was keen to try somewhere a bit different when arriving to BA and this delivered just what I was looking for. The staff are lovely - all English speaking, knowledgeable and helpful, and attentive but not in your face, ie will leave you to your own devices but if you need help will do what they can. The hostel... More

I gave it 50% because I had great fun with the hostel room-mates while I was there. Beds are comfortable, the price is reasonable for the basic facilities you get. The hostel will not get my other 50% because of the reception staff. Other than the staff on night shift (who took the trouble to help me with my airline... More

Very nice decorated hostel, friendly and helpfull staff, good location in San Telmo, simple but ok breakfast, nice double room with good bed, but a lot of noice from the street coming in. The tango vibe of this hostel is briljant

This was the first place we stayed in South America and it was absolutely the best choice for us. Amazing value private rooms (absolutely huge with good sized bed, storage, tv and air con). Big plus is the amazing decor of the interior. Staff are very helpful - especially as we couldn´t speak a word of Spanish at this point... More

The hostel is in a lovely part of San Telmo, only a short walk from the plaza and a 10 minute walk to the city centre. Unfortunately around New Years Eve a lot of things were closed, but when they started to open up it was much more lively. The decor inside is vibrant, but the rooms are pretty basic.... More

Clean, comfortable rooms. Very friendly, helpful staff. Quiet guests. Very secure building. Negative: As a single woman, I was not comfortable walking to the hostel after nightfall. Streets around the hostel were quite deserted and dark.

Nice hostel in the San Telmo district of Buenos Aires. Breakfast was very good loads of choice! Stayed in a private twin was nice. Showers were warm but small area to change in. The bar is the breakfast room not too exciting

The decor, the atmosphere, the common areas were all done well: wifi throughout with desktops also available for use, at least one tv area, several chill spaces, at least one kitchen, breakfast provided. Clean. They have dorm beds and doubles, all with shared bath. Good location in San Telmo. Seemed security conscious. Helpful staff. The negatives: No trash bin in... More

It is a decent hostel for a low cost travel. It is best suited for youngsters below 23yrs of age.

Staying in Montserrat

Neighborhood Profile
As part of the historic quarter of Buenos Aires, Montserrat is defined by the historical events that took place there and the landmarks that have stood the test of time. The Plaza de Mayo is at the center of this connection to history: countless public demonstrations have passed through this square, going back to the May Revolution of 1810. Walking the streets of Montserrat allows us to imagine what Buenos Aires may have looked like in the past: the Cabildo takes us back to the late 16th century, while the Palacio Barolo and the traditional cafés carry us to the early 20th. Nowadays, the neighborhood is inundated every day by office workers, buses, and taxis; still, the cobblestones, narrow sidewalks, and subway stations from the 1910s remind us that we are surrounded by history everywhere we look.
