I stayed at the Vida Baires twice last December. Because of the busy time of year I was unable to stay at the hotel the full sixteen days over Christmas which I wanted to . The Hotel is a very Grand old hotel close to Santa Fe Avenue. I was given a very large single room with a balcony overlooking... More

Their website looks great - and the room photos look really lovely - it seemed a great choice for our last night in Argentina. DON'T BE DECEIVED. We booked a good few months in advance. Upon arrival, we were totally disillusioned..it was like we were in the wrong place!! The rooms were horrible. Dark and dindgy, not like the nice... More

I have stayed in this hotel 5 nights and had a great time. The plus about this hotel is that the staff is lovely (especially Sabrina) and you get a warm at home feeling. Location is great! you can get to many bars and clubs just by walking and there is a metro station nearby and the bus stops are... More

We stayed here twice during our recent trip to BSAS. Our luggage got lost and the manager, Sabrina, was absolutely wonderful with calling the airline and following up with them. She truly went out of her way time and time again. Her English is excellent, and she is knowledgeable about the hospitality industry. Enjoyed the resident cat, Renata, and visiting... More

The location of Vida Baires is fantastic! Two short blocks to the metro, and the surrounding neighborhood is full of great shopping and great restaurants. It was the perfect home base. The staff, Sabrina & Silvina were so nice and helpful, giving us tons of information about the area. There weren't any questions they couldn't answer! This was also quite... More

We found this hotel on Booking.com as well as the B&B around the corner had referred us. We wanted to be in this area as we had heard great things about it. BA is quite spread out but the taxi cabs are very reasonable. The metro is quite close but we had one elderly so part of our group took... More

There are two Vida Baires in Buenos Aires. One is a hotel and the other is a B&B. The B&B accepts animals; it's very clean; the hotel staff go out of their way to help in any way they can. It's located on a well-trafficked road, so it's noisy on the street-side. There's a pre-school in the courtyard and the... More

The noisiest hotel we have ever stayed in. Traffic passing right under our single glazed french doors 24 hours a day. They never sleep in Buenos Aires. The good point was the staff were charming and helpful - recommended earplugs! Moved after the first night. Lots of stairs and our rooms overlooked the main street did not have en suite... More

Staying in Recoleta

Neighborhood Profile
Characterized by the French-style mansions which are the legacy of its aristocratic past, Recoleta is the true “Paris of the South.” Walking around this neighborhood is an experience like no other in Buenos Aires: its streets are lined with elegant apartment buildings, exclusive boutiques, and former mansions turned into high-end hotels and embassies, which exude an alluring air of sophistication and class. You'll also find a rich cultural scene centered on the National Museum of Fine Arts, the National Library, and the Recoleta Cultural Center; as well as some great shopping spots, like the Buenos Aires Design Mall with an artists' fair set up in Plaza Francia every weekend.
