It was a privilege to spend five nights at Casa da Avo Genoveva, where the guest is welcomed into the lovely 400-year-old home of Maria Manuella and Jose. This property is lovely, and its owners are lovely, retired philosophy professors who wish to give nothing but the very best lodging experience. We stayed in the one-bedroom apartment, which was perfect... More

I very much enjoyed my stay at Casa da Avo Geneveva. The couple that own it are the nicest people you'll ever meet. Very friendly and helpful. And their dog, Bluto, is a real sweetheart, too. Keep in mind that the hotel is a bit remote. You'll no doubt arrive by car and will need a car to get anywhere... More

We booked a room for one night a few days before arrival, mostly because of TripAdvisor reviews. And we were not disappointed for a second! The owners were both so sweet and welcoming, and I so much regret I didn`t have time to accept their nice invitiation to see the house and garden. It is the old family house in... More

What an amazing place to stay. Fabulous house with a great selection on the buffet breakfast. The hosts were very nice and a pleasure to meet. It is tranquil and relaxing anf only a short drive into marvellous Tomar. Spotlessly clean and comfortable beds. This is a highly recommended venue to stay. Would definitely stay again if in the area.

This is not so much a conventional hotel as an 'agrodolce' (to borrow an Italian word) - and all the better for it! The four of us shared a two-bedroom apartment for two nights in May 2014. It was private, quiet, comfortable, very, very clean, beautifully furnished (and when I say 'beautiful', I mean it), with excellent berakfast. The place... More

We were touring about Portugal, playing host to visiting relatives from the States who wanted to see as much as possible. Being on the road instead of returning to our home each night meant some basic motel stays, but we hit the jackpot with Casa da Avo Geneveva. It was January, raining, and we were late to arrive. No problem... More

What a fantastic find! I stayed here for 3 nights in August, with my husband and two children (aged 6 and 9). We had the T2, which comprises two bedrooms, two bathrooms a large living room and dining area and a small kitchen. The place was clean although a bit hot (both rooms had AC, so that wasn't a problem).... More
