We stayed here for one night as part of our tour of Portugal, heading south. The hotel is nice enough, nothing special. There is free parking, and an ok breakfast. The rooms are a bit tired and the tv is very tiny and high up on the wall. For one night it is fine. We got some extra and very... More

This hotel is comfortable and has all that you need. The town is beautiful and well worth visiting. The bedroom was fine, with a nice balcony. The pool could have been cleaner. The breakfast was adequate but better for coffee drinkers than tea drinkers. There were no regular teabags, only herbal, which is not what is required in the morning!... More

Castelo de Vide is a pretty hill town of Roman origin in Portugal’s Portalegre district, which borders on Spain’s western boundary. It is one of the best-preserved medieval towns in Portugal and is known most for its sizeable Jewish presence in the Middle Ages. It has a Jewish Quarter with the oldest synagogue in Portugal. The hotel is a true... More

The hotel is in a very good location just outside the old city (5min walk from the center of town) and this is probably the only good thing about it. The hotel is in a desperate need for refurbishing. Breakfast was a bit weak too .

When we stayed it was unseasonably cold and wet weather and unfortunately as a result staying here (two nights, two different rooms 207 and 211) was a bit like being in the spooky hotel in The Shining. Wind was howling in the gloomy corridoors and there were never any staff on reception or in the breakfast room - or other... More

loved the hotel, but the roomkeepers are very noisy - I went to a wedding, and arrived at 4:00AM, and since 9(:00AM I didn´t sleap nothing - that was the worst thing that happened to me, because that day I was thinking on walking and knowing the place, and I couldn't do-it, because I was extreamely tiered and sleepy.

We didn't like this hotel that much. 1 of our room was very smelly. The furniture in the rooms are very old. However, the city center is in walking distance. Try to look for an alternative.

We stayed here for two nights. Our room was clean and we didn't hear noise from neighbors. We booked a room for 3 ppl, and those are not too spacious. The swimming pool was quite cold, but that might be because the summer was just beginning. Breakfast was very good. Internet in our room never worked, except one morning and... More

Visited Portugal in 2008. Found this hotel after dark with no reservations when we couldn't get a bed in Marvao and were very pleased with out 1-night stay. Comfortable, well-appointed and spacious rooms, within our budget ( in which we were NOT being spendy on accomodations), Very nice (included) breakfast, typical European fare but tasty and generous. Staff were helpful... More
