We had a pleasant room, with a balcony accessed through the bathroom. The beds were comfortable; however, we could have done with larger sheets that could be tucked in! A beautiful garden to relax in and see the different birds in the garden and on the lake. Fortunately, we are mobile, but had to be careful going up stairs to... More

Amazing service and setting. The well appointed staff make you feel like royalty. Which is appropriate, I suppose, as the local mahrajah still lives here. They also make arrangements to visit the late 13th century former royal residence and hidden treasure Juna Mahal, with its gorgeous, whimsical painted rooms. The interior courtyard of the Udai Bilas Palace houses an ornate... More

Set on a lake, with the constant chatter of birds, this beautiful Heritage palace has been converted into a select hotel. Secluded & sedate, one can enjoy the sense of times gone by. The rooms are adequate, the food is simple but tasty & varied, & the service is caring & considerate. There is a bar set at the end... More

This was our fourth visit to Udai Bilas in the past ten years so they must be doing something right. There are palace hotels that are much more luxurious, but Udai Bilas has an charm and authenticity all of its own. It is the second palace of the family. The old palace just up the road has interiors as fine... More

For those who are interested in the real life of the Indian royalty and can't afford the Lake Palace, this is the place! It's a real palace still in the hands of the original royal family. It's not a palace sold to a corporation to renovate the past away. Don't come here for modern luxuries, come to experience something unique,... More

We only had a one night stopover here on our way to Mount Abu, the good points were the beautiful setting on the lake, and the infinity pool. We picked the best suite which was ok, but in keeping with everything else in the hotel was 1920/30 with its furniture and fixtures, but very spacious. The downside was the very... More

I must confess that I booked this property with a lot of trepidation. But all my fears were laid to rest once I got there. The ideal lake setting ,the peace and tranquility made me want the time to standstill! Marble staircases ,Art Deco furniture ,royal personal memorabilia ,portraits ,wild life trophies,an inviting swimming pool ....I felt more like a... More

Super excellent will also be under rated words for this palace! Being there is exactly the same feeling of how our kings and queens have had lived their authentic luxurious life and now they have made the same available for the commoners! I mean every thing was exclusive, authentic, traditional, royal, luxurious etc. about staying experience. I was there with... More

3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 31, 2014

This palace built largely in the 19th century with probably additions in the 20th century and some recent upgrading is a delight because fundamentally one is the guest of the Royal family who continue to live there with young children in three generations. That is the important aspect that it is NOT a five star hotel with every gadget and... More
