Thanks Ilaria for a great stay-over in Stellenbosch and I will definitely return. Good location near the town and a good base to explore the town and surrounding wine farms. Great to have our own entrance and easy to access. Tasty breakfast and good attention from the owners.

I stayed with my 11 year old son. Ilaria was very friendly and helpful. Location was great, quiet but close to town. It was a little 'old' in that some things didn't work perfectly -front door got stuck a lot, bathroom door didnt track easily - a bit annoying trying to get it open. But for a 3 star, I... More

Worst pension on our journey of 4 weeks through South Africa. Too expensive, poorly furnished small room, sink in the room, no tv, no swimming pool, minimal breakfast and yet 1300 ZAR per night. Never go.

Dear Guest, thank you for your review, we always appreciate when our Guests find time for it. I appreciate suggestions, tips to improve etc but not sentence like "the worst pension in 4 weeks in South Africa". I am personally taking care about the Guest House from august 2008 and it is not necessary for me to prove that our... More

A warm welcome and a small quaint B&B with pleasant staff and nice breakfast, but, the "cottage" is not somewhere we will return to! More like a garden shed than a room, it creaked and groaned all night as the wood contracted but the worse thing about this "room" is the 6ft high fence within touching distance of the shed... More

Lovely place, friendly lady who owns here - she was extremely helpful to us and another lady staying and nothing seemed too much trouble. We did find the place a little hard to find and we chose to walk into Stellenbosch for dinner which was about 30 mins (a nice safe walk though). Place was clean and had nice decor.... More

My wife and I looked for a quiet, unpretentious lodging for a night for our last night of a 10 day trip in South Africa. We found on the Stables Lodge on the internet and it seemed just the place for us. Easy to find in the leafy suburbs of Stellenbosch, it turned out to be exactly the right choice.... More

My husband and I came to Stellenbosch to attend a wedding and to explore all the wonderful things that Stellenbosch has to offer. We were heartily welcomed by the owners of the guesthouse. They are so warm and welcoming and makes one feel at "home" even when you are away from your own home. Friendly staff, excellent accommodation and overall... More

Stables lodge is not too far from the city centre. we booked 2 rooms for 3 night stay during our visit to Stellenbosch. . The lodge is very secure, car parking is safe. The rooms we had were clean and neat c/w a little pantry where we can make our little meal since there is a spar mini mart just... More

Decent place with all the usual trappings I'd come to expect in South Africa - spotless clean, manicured grounds, safe parking... Location was good for us - a short drive from downtown and on the beautiful road to Jonkershoek nature reserve, which is great for hiking and biking. But some comforts were missing - host Fabio was courteous enough but... More

I stayed with two friends 1 night in January. The cottages are ok but lack one important thing. normal beds. There is one queensize bed in the living which is ok. The second (kids)room has one self man bunk bed. Both those beds are really small (only for kids). The construction is horrible, meaning that one moves, the structure almost... More
