I have a wedding in the area and tried to make a booking. The lady I spoke to was Vicki...told me she had availability but I should try two other places nearby...???Strange??? When I said I would like to take the accommodation...could she please confirm the deposit amount(sent me the form stating whole amount payable upfront) she did not even... More

Dear Claire When guests contact us regarding bookings for wedding parties we normally recommend nearby establishments as well, as seen in the email written to you by Vicki mentioning that she only have one other room available, so if you might be looking for other accommodation as well for your guests, the mention of the other guest houses and estates... We have timeshare at Alluvia and it is the third time we were there for a week. The state of neglect is still the same as I have reported before.......carpets, curtains, linen need to be replaced. Carpets really dirty for a 'so called' upmarket place. The bad thing is that my camera was stolen out of my room. It is... More

Had a friend's wedding close by - and stayed here with a few of the extended family. Essentially - nothing was wrong with it - but there is just no reason to write home, It was really nice - just what was needed to stay in Stellenbosch, close to town, but far enough to enjoy the views (AMAZING). Beautiful setting... More

We stayed in one of the nice(st) suites. The room had a cosy, nostalgic feel to it. You could really feel the farmhouse / country-ness.Breakfast came in a picnic basket and there were sheep roaming outside. There are lots of activities to do at the estate. The room was a little dusty and irritated my allergies. The bathroom was clean though... More

This was my first time to South Africa. I have travelled to the many places all over the world. I told the manageress Jeanine that this will be the first time and I dont know what to expect or what to do. She helped me plan the whole week. She booked us in Avalon a very cosy house with a... More

We arrived quite late, 10pm, there was NO-ONE there to open or welcome us. Eventually a guard arrived after we waited in the dark road for 30 mins. We found that Alluvia was a disappointment for our two night stay in April. We booked the honeymoon sweet "Clovelly". It was spacious but but a bit shabby, more like 3 *.... More

It is such a shame that the place is run so poorly because it has such potential. The grounds and scenery are amazing and it could really be a gem if someone cared about making it a success. We stayed here for 2 days and now I realize why they had rooms available last minute. The welcome was fine, the... More

We took a special offer for a romantic night away from home and it ended up an expensive nightmare. We arrived at closed gates with a non working intercom where we had to use our mobiles to try and track down assistance to enter the estate. When we were eventually let in the welcome was cold an impersonal that reminded... More

This was supposed to be a romantic night away after my hubby returned from a overseas work contract of 3 months.... what a disappointment. I would have been better going to Tehran and seeing him there. The place itself is kinda ok... BUT.... On arriving the gate was not answered... so we called reception... young girl opened the gate and... More

What was supposed to be a romantic weekend turned out to be everything but that. To start off, the bookings was a nightmare as nobody ever returns emails and we had to continuously phone and speak to the answering machine...that also doesn't return calls. Once we arrived it was a beautiful sunny winters day and the rooms were beautiful and... More
