This is our third visit to the Stellenbosch Hotel and we love it for its central location, it's friendly and helpful staff and it's quirkiness. Composed of several old houses joined together and now a national monument, it is a gem. If you are tempted to sample this delight, be warned that most of the rooms are small - and... More

Firstly - false advertizing on prices. Asked for room with double bed, and got 2 single bed. Culdnt sleep because of noize from bar across the road. Got eaten up alive by insects. When complained the next morning I was told " hope you have better stay next time" ...... Never again!!

We stayed here for two nights while we were wine tasting and attending a wedding. It was very centrally located in downtown Stellenbosch if you wanted to wander around town and the location was very nice for wine tasting in Stellenbosch and Franschoek. The breakfast had a great variety and was delicious. The service was good. The room he had... More

The staff are very friendly and helpful. The room was quite small and very warm, but it had air conditioning which was bliss. It is centrally located and within walking distance of shops, restaurants etc. It as a secure underground car park. We had breakfast in the courtyard - it is buffet style. The hotel is in an old building... More

Clean and a good sized room, nice breakfast with a great location. Rooms did smell a bit musty and the room safe was tiny. Hotel had plenty of bars and shops near by and was easy to find from the motorway.

Tricky to find if driving, even with co-pilot ! The hotel looks great but I recommend viewing room before accepting - we didn't & ended up with a very small room that smelt of cats & with a view of roofs. Very disappointing indeed, so cramped we only stayed one night & left after breakfast. We had to ask staff... More

We stayed three nights at Stellenbosch Hotel. Great location, excellent two bedroom apartment, with a big balcony, friendly staff. Very disappointing breakfast with an inadequate toaster, lack of attention from the staff which resulted in empty trays and no coffee refills. One of our children had a cup of hot chocolate for breakfast and we were charged extra for it,... More

First of all let me state the staff were friendly & that was not an issue. It was the room. It was the smallest room in a hotel I have ever stayed in. The bathroom was so tiny that if you sat on toilet your knees were stuck against the wall.. We were really disappointed by this hotel. The breakfast... More
