Booked on the off chance for Christmas Dinner 2015. Only place in the area that could assist at this late date. Set off through the beautiful Helderburg surroundings and after a bit of a battle ( improve your signage) found the place. Lovely dinning room with typical Cape ambiance and surroundings. Served up a wonderful Christmas dinner buffet with friendly... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, and whilst the hotel is not high end, it is lovely with excellent staff and a tranquil location. We enjoyed nights at the terrace restaurant outside which also had a pizza oven, a favourite with our daughter. The food was good local cuisine with fresh ingredients. We stayed for 2 nights and it was... More

Stayed 2 nights at this wonderful place. So peaceful and relaxed. Very nice food and wine. The terasse is so nice in the evening . You can sit and watch the valley glittering and hear the cikado sing.

We stayed as a family before our holiday end. There was a good and clean pool normally lots of hotel didn't have a clean one. We loved grapes. Rooms was clean but choose the luxury one with veranda. We stayed in the Hotel for 2 nights and we don't understand why this Hotel has 4 Stars. The room was ok, but all other things...we didn't like that. The service wasn't good. Unfriendly and not preventing. But the landscape is beautiful. :-) it's a good hotel, but we expected more. Other 4 stars hotels in ZA was more beautiful.

The restaurant is an absolute disaster. Service is beyond any recommendation and quality of food a disgrace for South Africa. The hotel as well as restaurant used to be a great establishment with a great collection of whiskeys and wines. This is the past. I can only recommend to avoid this place. Even a new design for the terrace with... More

Friendly staff, nice and big rooms, good restaurant and a beautiful garden. The pool area was nice and clean. Very nice and welcoming reception staff. We had an amazing view from our room but the wifi was very slow.

Dearest Klinfhgr, Happy to hear you enjoyed your stay. Unfortunately our picturesque valley does not care much for technology, hence the slow wi-fi :) Warmest Regards, Jean-Paul and the Devon Valley Hotel team More

Stayed here for 2 nights checking in on New Years Eve. Found reception staff friendly however a bit unhelpful in that we were told (1) there were no wine tours in the area available on New Years Day; we found some ourselves searching internet. (2) there was no transport to bring us to a wine tour ; there actually was... More

Devon Valley Hotel gets a top rating for their location in the midst of the Cape wine-lands. This allows easy access to many wine estates and also to the town of Stellenbosch itself. The staff offer excellent and friendly service (one exception/see below) and we found the breakfast offering to be of an excellent standard, well worth it for both... More
