Perfectly situated in the centre of Stellenbosch even with own car-parking. Cute old house with comfortable rooms, AC, balconies, wi-fi. Very nice á-la-carte break-fast at the café next door, which also belongs to the owner of the B&B. He was very friendly and made us feel very welcomed.

This old place above the quaint streets of Stellenbosch has just a few rooms that are very quiet. Mine, I think, was part of the original kitchen! Carpeted, clean, soft sheets, en suite bath, hair dryer, in-room safe, coffee and tea, and very atmospheric. Breakfast included. There's a pretty balcony. Space heater in winter, a/c in summer. It's a converted... More

There isn't a more central location and great price than the De Oude Meul. It is just blocks away from all the town attractions, making walking around and popping back to your room very easy. The Mill Coffee Shop below have a great breakfast and lunch menu. The staff is very friendly.

We were a little disappointed as we arrived in the middle of a downpour and the building didn't look as nice as the photo on-line. However, we were soon to find that the building was in the process of being repainted and the young girl that helped us get situated was very friendly. The next morning we had a wonderful... More

We stayed here one night and it was too long. The rooms were shabby and were not air conditioned despite assurances to the contrary from the owner. We had to sleep with the windows and balcony doors open all night which was both noisy and not very safe from a security point of view. Additionally, the beds were very uncomfortable... More

As owner I am alarmed to read this review. No complaints were ever received from these particualr guests. We are in the centre of town as some noise is to be expected. As far a security goes we are situated on the upper floor and all rooms have security bars on the windows. We have never had a single security... More

We stayed for a couple of nights in a double room. This isn't a bad place at all. Convenient location and the people were very friendly. The room was a good size with a nice big balcony- but it was falling apart a little bit. I'd stay here again,it's relatively inexpensive but maybe slightly overpriced for what it is.

A few friends and I recently booked a room at de oude meul seeking a relaxing night in Stellenbosch. After explaining that three of us would like to share one room, the owner, Arno, kindly insisted on bringing in an additional mattress for us at no extra charge.
