Stayed in room 108 right on the waters edge, the sunrises over the bay and you can actually watch it from your bed! The room has a nice crisp modern feel to it with all the charm of a seaside hotel. The dining room is very airy with lots of natural light and great service from the Staff. Check in... More

We went to Saldahna to visit family and stayed at the Protea Hotel. Did not expect much but was pleasantly surprised. The hotel was nice enough but the service even better. We found staff very friendly and willing to help. Rooms looked out over the sea and when you open sliding door you are on the grass and 1min walk... More

We have stayed at the Protea Hotel Saldanha a few times before. This hotel has the best view. It is situated right on the waters edge. The best is to sit out on the deck and sip drinks while watching the birds and the water etc. etc. Really nice. The last few times that we were there, the hotel was... More

We stayed in this hotel for 2 days. Many locals visit here and the staff give preference to them. At the restaurant we were given non window seats because it is booked. This is around 7 in the evening when you can have a sea view. Around 9 when we left and it is dark, most of the window seats... More

We stayed 2 nights during July this year. We booked a suite facing the swimming pool on ground level. Convenient with outside door outside seating area in front of room. The room was spacious, clean the interior and bathroom was dated. We knew the hotel was closing the following week for a much needed refurbishment. The staff was very friendly... More

Hotel is clean and tidy, staff are friendly but service is slow. And if you need to sleep then this is not the hotel for you. Booked in on business, unfortunately the bar next door blasts out extremely loud rock music into the early hours of the morning... It would be almost bearable if it wasn't being played live and... Stayed here for 2 nights and used the Hotel as a base from which to explore the West Coast peninsula. The setting was great, the staff is fantastic, friendly and attentive. The breakfast was ample and the cappuccino is seriously on of the best in the whole of the Western Cape Province. The Hotel was about to close for an... More

Not exactly a high-class venue, but the staff are friendly and the food offered were quite surprising. The rooms were very dated, but we were informed that a renovation was scheduled for later this year. The setting is lovely, with a view over the ocean. Am sure it will receive pretty good ratings after the renovations.
