Anton, Palmiet General Manager, organized for me a special polo package and it was a fantastic week. The accomodations are so pleasant in Palmiet (having breakfast under the old oak trees is like to be in paradise), the gardens are perfect, the sundowner (having a glass of wine on the sun deck admiring the changing colors of the mountains because... My wife and I stayed here for the first night of our trip to South Africa, and we loved it! The service was great, the grounds were very well taken care of, and the food was fantastic. It really blew away our expectations. Would definitely recommend to anyone else trying to enjoy "wine country" near Cape Town.

Fabulous historical estate. Wonderfully restored period room & bathroom. Very comfy and romantic four poster bed. Shaded dinner outdoor surrounded by hortensia hedge. Elegance throughout and refined service. Only regret: murky pool water.

Although the wifi is poor and no tv in ur room the surroundings and sunsets are stunning. Rooms are exceptional and bathrooms outstanding with super comfy massive king size beds. The pool is idyllic although murky pool water was little off putting. A sunset drink on the sun deck watching the sunset over the mountains before dinner was superb and... More

Where to begin...? For our February wedding we wanted a small-ish venue so that we could host all our guests for two nights without having to share the facilities with other guests. The venue also had to be easily accessible from Cape Town as we had several first time visitors to South Africa attending. And having another guest house connected... More

We stayed for two nights in this hotel in a standard room. The photos and description, the 5 star rating and the price gave us the impression this would be a good stay. It wasn't, despite that we had a large standard room, Nr. 7. The most important thing in a hotel is the bed. This was a disaster: the... More

The place is just beautiful with very charming staff. The garden and pool area offer many shady spots to escape the heat and the sun. Rooms are very charming even if not every detail is top notch. Dinner is good - not great, but after all its a BnB! We definitely recommend Palmiet Valley estate!

In all honesty Palmiet Valley hadn’t been my first choice when looking to book in the wine lands outside of Cape Town as we had wanted to stay in Franschhoek (which was very busy due to us staying the festive period). We ended up being really glad we couldn’t find a place elsewhere in the end as we loved our... More

My husband and I have recently returned from South Africa after having our wedding on the 15th of November. We had seen Palmiet online along with other venues and were lucky enough to be able to view them before the day as we live in Scotland. Palmiet was always my favourite venue however you cannot imagine how beautiful it is... More

Absolutely lovely property and friendly staff. The approach from the highway seems unpromising, but driving through the gate, you reach heavenly gardens and a haven of gentility. The attention to detail and generous, thoughtful sense of hospitality of the owners is evident. Thanks Palmiet for making us feel so at home.
