I have never been so pleasantly suprised before! Firstly they advertised a twin room, what we got was a private cottage with en suite bathrooms. A room with a view is an understatement as the cottage had a balcony overlooking a deer filled field and a unspoilt view of a mountain. The restaurant was great serving well made and presented... This is our 4th year we spend at De Oude Meul Country guest Lodge. This year it was from 16th December to 5th January 2015. We can only give the best review the hospitality is outstanding with the most amazing continental breakfast and with The Ou Meul Restaurant on the premises this surely makes it a definitive must to visit.

This is a place that caters to tour groups and families visiting the Cango Caves. Our suite (bedroom, kitchen/sitting room, deck & ensuite bath) was nicely conceived but fell down on details. The wi-fi signal varied from weak to nonexistent. There was no sink and very few plates or utensils in the kitchen. The desk was six inches too high... More

I HIGHLY recommend a stay at De Oude Meul to anyone wanting to stay over in Oudtshoorn. It's very well-priced, has neatly cleaned rooms. Such a nice touch to have little lavender flowers in bathrooms and bedrooms. We stayed over for a full weekend as part of a wedding party and experienced the other services on offer. Really an AMAZING... More

Really lovely accomodationsituated at the bottom of a valley.Lovely family run business ,very friendly.Excellent breakfasts in the morning ,loads of choice. Antelope visited in the morning . Also if your child gets nipped by the puppy ,it has had its rabbies jab,as apparently it is a requirement that all pets have an annual jab. Very near the Congo caves

We are going Easter weekend again to this amazing lodge. We know that we will get an even walmer welcome this time around as these people just grow fonder in your heart. We need a break and as for rest, peace and food you cannot ask for better.

This extremely well-priced resort in an area of amazing natural beauty exceeded our expectations. The spotlessly clean units are equipped with everything one needs for a comfortable stay, serviced daily and have powerful yet silent air-conditioners that meant we were always cool when inside. The resort grounds and gardens are beautifully maintained and there are two large sparkling swimming pools.... More

This was our third visit to Oudshoorn area staying at self catering accomodation, and by far the best so far! The family units are so well equipped and we loved the separate room for our kids. The hotel is set in the base of a valley and the scenery is beautiful. Our kids (8 and 11) couldnt get enough of... More
