Just had one night here en route to Prince Albert. Lovely and unusual rooms and very friendly owner. Breakfast was excellent. If we are back in this area next year will definitely spend a night or two.

This is an absolutely divine spot just five minutes from Oudtshoorn. We had the Hendrik 'z'n huisje room which had a double bedroom/living room space with a fireplace and two sofas. A nice sized bathroom with a wonderful shower. The attention to detail, from a little flower posey in the room to the cold spring water in the mini fridge... More

Booked 3 nights on our way back from Cape family to Jozi's. We were the only guests so it was relaxing and peaceful. We enjoyed the home made bread and breakfast was of top class. Learned so much history and enjoyed a day outing to the hel, and a great sand road towards the waterfall and De Rust, sure worth... More

We booked the two rooms at Mieta se Huisie. Both were very clean, comfortable, and the old-world decor is so charming. Peach-floor in the one room is quite a massage / punishment on the bare feet - but oh so beautiful! Marojean is a star - so friendly and helpful, and her attention to our needs were much appreciated. Breakfast... More

you never know what to expect as most of us have found when you book something that it is never the same as the photos but with Marojean and JP at Rooderandt you definitively get what you see but you have to visit them to experience the old world charm of the cottages, the thick walls of the rooms, the... We were in a group of 11, touring South Africa on motorcycles, and stayed here for two nights in mid November 2012. Marojéan & JP made us feel especially welcome. By arrangement, they provided a Karoo roast lamb dinner in the homestead on our first night – and it was fabulous. On the next night we self-catered a braai (with... More

What a great place to stay. We preferred being outside Oudsthoorn and in the countryside and we chose Rooderandt Hillside Lodge. We had a little house each. Ours had a peach stone floor, which you had to wear shoes to walk on. Our arrival was a little out of the ordinary. The owner was on her own, as her husband... More

waking up to a priceless view each and every morning. Owners are pleasant and are more than willing to point out local attractions close by. Breakfast is more than enough, and very tasty. Value for money. Rooms have aircon, and are very cozy.

We stayed at the Mieta se huisie, which was rustic with a nice Afrikaans flavour - exactly what we were looking for! However, one should be warned that this is not a COTTAGE with full kitchen facilities (which was our assumption when we booked) This is just a large room with a small sitting area, bathroom and minibar, housed in... Service: The service was perfect to the detail, from the bottle of champagne and the taste of sherry the landlady offers you, to the rose petals and lavender on your bedclothes and, finally, to the great breakfast and dinner that will let you taste the flavors of the area. You will live in a house which is a trove of... More
