Unfortunately or rather fortunately we only stayed for one day. We were upgraded from the lodges that we had booked two rooms, which having spoken to other people was genuinely upgrade although at the time we thought it was a downgrade. There was work taking place immediately outside our room that woke us up extremely early in the morning and... More

Every 3 weeks I visit the town of Oudtshoorn for business. The best part of visiting Oudtshoorn, is that I get a chance to stay at De Zeekoe. This Guest farm is fantastic! Location can't be beat. Even with some construction happening, this is the place to be at in and around Oudtshoorn. The service is the best. The suites... More

I recently had the opportunity to spend a weekend in Oudtshoorn with my family. It is always a challenge when travelling with kids to find a balance between a family orientated hotel/guest house and one that offers a quality top end experience. Well what an amazing time we had at this most incredible gem just outside of Oudtshoorn!!! The kids... More

We arrived and were greeted by very friendly staff. However we made the mistake of booking a log cabin away from the main lodge. The log cabin was very disappointing and certainly did not portray what we thought we were booking after looking at the website photo's. Very basic and not a place to take children. It was very small... More

Overall, a great experience. While set several km off the main roads in farm country, de Zeekoe is a well maintained inn, with a smaelectric plugs adaptedll but adequate bar and restaurant, a small lobby, and with fairly large rooms. Our room seemed huge, and included a fireplace, frig, coffee maker, tv (only 4 channels), and free, but slow, wifi.... More

We stayed in FishEagle cabin (a fantastic location) but the approach track severely tested our hire car. We booked specifically for the Meerkat Tour which was excellent but we had to use our own car to drive 9 kms to the site (so could have used any other accommodation) also had to drive the track to the restaurant so could... My husband and I were on a road trip, and booked at another place (Buffelsdrift, who screwed up our booking) for the night. We were bitterly disappointed, and I recalled a friend talking about De Zeekoe. I phoned them and they had place for me at the last minute. A very friendly Jackie at reception helped us settle into a... More

What a place to relax! Sleeping in the cabin 'fish eagle' was great: waking up besides the lake, seeing the fish eagle in the middle of the island, wonderfull. Breakfast was nice and dinner delicious. I also recommend the Meerkat tour, very good guide and definitely seeing the Meerkats!

We stopped overnight on our Garden Route tour, and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The rooms were spacious and extremely comfortable. The food in the restaurant was excellent (my husband tried ostrich for the first time and was very pleasantly surprised). The service all round was also excellent. We loved the meerkat tour and the very inviting and sumptuous breakfast after... More
