This is a very nice hotel, that still uses it's historical colonial theme to good advantage. The public areas were both clean and well maintained. The rooms were of a good size and well appointed. The meals were very good. We only stayed one night at this hotel, I would have liked to stay longer but time didn't permit .... More

This hotel is really a jewel in the Oudtshoorn Crown. The rooms are slightly old fashioned but totally charming. A previous review mentions the lack of a proper family room but there are rooms with adjoining rooms. Our room slept 3 quite comfortably and was overlooking the Colonial style courtyard which was really a joy to see in the morning... More

we stayed here 2 nights. it's a great base for the area which is beautiful and nice and central so we were able to walk out to local restaurants each evening. The public areas are attractive, especially the lounge area and pretty gardens. The breakfast is good and we especially liked the lady who cooked the eggs! in our first... More

i booked family room for myself, husband and 2 kids. the room only had a single sleeper couch. for us this was fine because we co-sleep (kids sleep in bed with us) but for another family this might not have worked. just a suggestion, ensure there is enough beds for all the children.

You could say character but this hotel does need investment if it is to keep in touch. Lovely lounge and bar area, very colonial feel. The rooms though bland, poor use of space , blankets! Just not good enough today. The toilet was in the bathroom facing a wall , if you are tall your knees and forehead will be... More

Although the prices are not cheap, don't expect any extra's. No assistance with luggage, no intro to room. We were in a luxury room, and although the bed was comfortable, it was very small. Restaurant staff very helpful, but food mediocre to say the least, which explained a large group from the hotel going over to a restaurant across the... More

Great atmosphere and such friendly staff, housekeeping could be improved though. Reception are efficient and very helpfull, even the chef came to help out with the internet. Team work is such an important aspect. Highly recommended thank you!

We stayed at this hotel only one night in May 2014; we loved it; it is a charming hotel with a typical british style, located on the main street of the town; our room was nice and clean, however bathroom was a bit small; the hotel has a nice dining room, a comfortable lounge and a very nice breakfast room... We stayed here in order to see the nearby Cango Ostrich Farm and the Cango Caves. Room and bathroom OK and clean. Hotel was rather empty, probably due to off-season, but all services (e.g. reception, breakfast) were manned and OK. Courtyard for parking locked at night, so car was safe. Located on the main street, so pretty close (walking distance)... More

Had problems with electricity as result of faulty lamp in room. Room service response was good. In my daugters room the tile fell off the wall into the shower. Room service response was good. Breakfast on Saturday morning was not what was expected. We had breakfast the sunday morning at Karoo pot in stead
