Context: We're a South African couple. Usually on a fairly tight budget, and into outdoors and peace and quiet. We’re more likely to go for rustic rather than luxury. Every now and then we try to get away for a weekend on our own to rediscover who we are and where we’re going. Monkey Valley is a favourite destination for... More

We have stayed in the resort before-it was gorgeous. Visited the restaurant lately and longed back to our stay there. A beautiful single-trail walk down to the beach (a beautiful stretch of white sand). The accommodation is lovely and the environment clean and beautiful. The restaurant food is to die for. The seafood is a must to try!

This is a great place to stay if you want to get away from it all.The accommodation is tucked away at the end of a small road and is quite easy to find, just drive slow .We were greeted by lovely staff and bags were carried to the room. The room was great and different with the bath being set low in... SOOOO disappointing. Decided to spend our well earned money on a Sunday roast around the fire. The views were fantastic, the room lovely and cozy...then came the food! A few pieces of meat, a few tiny potatoes and soft veg. No gravy. Asked for gravy and was presented with a white sauce. There was not much of a reaction when... More

We attended a friends wedding and stayed in the Crowned Eagle for 2 nights. Our whole experience was fantastic. Great location... amazing views, the room was beautiful and really very big. The food was brilliant and the wedding was absolutely wonderful. Thanks for having us and we can't wait to come back. Highly recommended ♡♡♡

With it being my 3rd stay at the resort , I was really looking forward to spending my birthday there and was grateful to management for the complimentary bottle of sparkling wine, waiting in the room on our arrival. Our stay in the Oyster was unfortunately very disappointing. The bedding and curtains were old and stained and the shampoo bottles in... More

I went here for a work retreat! Oh boy! If you are staying here I recommend you get a room with a view of the beach. The staff are very friendly, the rooms are clean and the food is great! I love how there is a hiking trail to Chapmans peak drive however that is kind of dangerous as cars... More

We stayed at Monkey Valley Beach Resort at the end of May with our 8 year old and found a beautiful piece of heaven, from the views to the food at the restuarant to the 8km beach with fine white sand and a glass of wine in front of the fire place at night was just what we needed. We... More

A review of their Thorfynn restaurant only. We stumbled on this place whilst driving along the coast via Chapman's Peak. Stunning setting deep in the wood hills overlooking Noordhoek Beach. It takes a lot or "let/right turns to get there but its OK. We were there when a company conference was on (ABSA Bank?) so lunchtime was rather busy. If... More

We stayed at Monkey Valley over Easter 2014 with our 2 year old and just loved it. The resort is built against the mountain and looks out over Noordhoek beach. The water was very cold but spending time on the beach was great. Location is a bit far from the city centre, but close to Chapmans peak drive if you... More
