We had booked to stay for 4 nights at the Lofts Boutique Hotel. Its set in a beautiful location on Thesen Island and our room was magnificent - so large with every creature comfort. Unfortunately the Lofts is built with corrugated iron roofs and is integrated with several shops and a very busy early morning cafe. The problem is twofold... More

I guess we are partial, but we see no reason to overpay for a made-for-tourist neighborhood, a funky/post-industrial design, no views (just one over the parking lot). We paid 40% more there than at the Cinnamon Lodge in Wilderness (40 kms away), and did not even get breakfast. Limited service. I guess we prefer real neighborhood, with real comfort, not... More

We stayed here for two nights and had one of the suite rooms which included a lounge and a kitchen. As we were travelling in SA for quite a long time we originally thought we might use the kitchen to cook to make a change from eating out, but when we saw how poor the kitchen was and how poorly... On being shown to the room our first impression was ITS HUGE !! Long long lounge with separate bed room ( which is v nice ) as we were only there for the one night this was probably wasted on us ( longer stays would maybe spread out more ) Thyssen island is tiny so you can't have a bad... More

We had a wonderful with panoramic views over the lagoon. The only downside was the wi-fi was a bit restricted and the breakfast arrangements were in a local cafe (Ile de pain) which is very busy with long waits in summer.

Dear Chris J, Thank you for taking the time to write a review for The Lofts. Everything was pretty much as expected based on reading trip advisor reviews. We had one of the Lagoon View suites (the one right above the lobby). Excellent view over the lagoon and a fantastic space. We did not ever hear any noise from the lobby, other than the light sound of music during the day when we had our patio... More

We were excited to go here after seeing pictures of the Hotel but when we arrived we were given an awful room above the downstairs Bakery. It was the middle of summer, super hot and no air whatsoever in the stuffy room. One small window lead onto a busy street outside with noise all night from party revellers. Really had... More

We stayed at The Lofts for two nights and it is a really nice boutique hotel. Staff is very friendly and always ready to help and the views are pretty. This is a very nice hotel for resting and relaxing and not too far from places tourists would go.

We had a stunning view from our room overlooking the lagoon, which really made the stay for us. The service is attentive when required, or you can be left to savour the surroundings without too much interruption if that is what you are looking for (which suited us just fine). The building suits the area and you really do melt... More
