Wonderful location, everything thought of in the rooms and more, lovely restaurant and pub. Ask Jeffrey to show you the Elephant Tree! One of the best places we have ever stayed in many years of travelling. more
My husband and I recently stayed here, en route from Cape Town to Port Elizabeth so it was only a one night stay. The hotel is located far from town, so you need a car to get around, or arrange other transport. The hotel is set up as a bunch of self catering cottages, with fully equipped kitchens, etc. I... more
Wow what a place, wonderful location overlooking the river, quiet 5 minute drive from town. Great restaurant and pub on site. Staff fantastic ! special mention to Jeffrey. Rooms are cape style cottages with kitchens and lovely sitting rooms tastefully decorated in neutral colours, lovely gardens. more
We have just returned from a wonderful stay at Belvidere Manor. We were in Loeurie Cottage (No.8). which is also called the honeymoon cottage. It sits with its own verandah facing the Knysna lagoon, the view is quite sublime and the bird life amazing. The staff were lovely and we enjoyed meals both at the "pub" and in the restaurant.... more
We stayed in a cute little cottage at the top of a slope overlooking the Knysna lagoon. It had an en-suite bedroom, lounge and kitchen plus a small seating area outside. You can park your car next to your cottage. As it was our honeymoon, there was a bottle of bubbly in our fridge, which was a lovely touch. The... more
We stayed in a Loerie Cottage for 3 nights. This was a charming, secluded building, with a lovely verandah overlooking the lagoon. The cottage is designed for self-catering visitors as well as hotel guests, and had a kitchen, dining room and a large lounge as well as two bedrooms with a shower room and a bathroom. There was also an... more
We stayed 2 nights in the Belvidere, it was so good we tried to book a 3rd night but unsurprisingly it was booked out. The Belvidere is a resort with about 15 cottages on the grounds, all the cottages are in very good condition. It would appear that the cottages are owned by private individuals and the manor house manages... more
I just thought this hotel was beautiful. We stayed for a couple of nights in a 2 bed cottage, which was huge! excellent kitchen, large bedrooms and bathrooms and an upstairs and downstairs verandah. When you pull in to the Belvidere estate it is very upmarket and the hotel is on the hill across the lagoon from Knysna with amazing... more
We stayed four nights in a two bedroomed cottage. Overall the place is spendid. Excellent views, very good service and a good restaurant. The small pub is a bonus though service can be a little slow at busy times. Breakfast on the verandah is a great start to the day. It is a maybe two miles to Knysna but there... more
