Not a conventional hotel as it is comprised of individual cottages in pleasant gardens overlooking the water towards Knysna. So lots of space, no noisy guests in the corridor slamming doors, etc! Just peace and quiet - that's what a holiday is all about. The staff were wonderful and the food and service were good as was the beer in... More

We were a party of five staying at the Belvidere for two nights on our travels down the Garden route. The views were stunning and made a hearty breakfast all the more enjoyable. The accommodation was clean and spacious. The Bell Inn within the grounds added to our experience with good food and many laughs with Jeffery whose energy and... More

We were welcomed to the Belvidere Manor by Jeffery who is a bit eccentric - everything is "Super" and "Fressshhh"! But for all his eccentricity it soon becomes clear that he is an extremely efficient and ever alert member of the team! The cottages are fabulous although ours lacked the gas fire on what was a cool evening. The on... More

The stay at Belvidere Manor was fantastic, the staff were so friendly and cleanliness of the cottage. One of staff decided to take me to show me the elephant tree that he has personally crafted and it was wonderful. The bell pub just next to hotel was so lovely only the slightly problem that it was small but can't blame... More

We stayed here for three nights. The cottage was nearest the bottom of the slope overlooking the lagoon. Two en-suite bedrooms, lounge and kitchen. Views were beautiful and setting was very quiet. Furnishings in the lounge were of a good standard but both the en suites and the kitchen areas could do with either a refurb or deep clean. Breakfast... More

All the cottages are big, 3 bedroomed fully furnished, very well equipped kitchen, outside verandah, good quality TV, everything you need and more. My house is not as big as this cottage. Their restaurant has very good meals. The service is very good, specially from the Receptionist. There is also a good breakfast. Lovely views, secluded, some restaurants around the... More

Good accommodation, nice cottage, unfortunately it is not a fully fitted kitchen, which we booked travelling on the Garden Route. No washing machine, this should come with a full kitchen. Also when checking in told washing machine is for owners use only, it must have been an invisible washing machine as there was not one in the cottage. Also when... More

Quaint private cottages with view of Knysna and the lagoon. Not within walking distance of the downtown, but if you have a car the location is private and serene. Nice location to stay while exploring the the Garden Route.

My family and stopped off here whilst doing the 'garden route'. It is a stunning place with amazing views. Our little 'chalet' was well kept and clean - a good size for a family of four, There is a pub on the grounds called 'The Bell' which is a sweet little place. Service a bit slow and they could do... I made an impulsive booking on Friday morning to check in on Friday evening. The telephone booking process was very easy. An email confirmation followed and I made payment by EFT. All very seamless. We flew from Johannesburg to George. The drive to Knysna is under an hour. We checked in before 21:00. The directions on the website are easy... More
