No this is not a huge English-style manor house - It is a genuine early South African manor house - but the accommodation is in well provisioned cottages set around a well manicured lawn, sloping down to the shore of the Knysna lagoon. It would be difficult to find a more picturesque setting. The service is first class - nothing... More

Very nice stay and excellent customer service, staff is friendly and helpful and. The cleaning staff could replace amenities daily an maybe put few cookies for tea . Breakfast really is nice, but doesn't accommodate kids that much. The hotel is beautiful on the whole and i would advise it definitely, awesome view ,relaxing and peaceful.

We spent five nights at this hotel in one of the cottages. So much has been written about Belvidere Manor that it is difficult to say anything new. The cottage we stayed in was lovely and had everything you could possibly want. They even have their own covered parking spaces. Although I never watch TV whilst away I did watch... More

Belvidere Manor is a beautiful setting under any circumstances, with stunning views, beautifully appointed cottage suites, manicured lawns, colourful gardens and a sparkling pool. But what Sue and her team pulled out of the hat to make a memorable day for my son's wedding was remarkable. He and his fiancé had chosen to have a small intimate beach wedding, and... More

After a fantastic safari the one thing our kids were missing was space to run around freely without the threat of being a lion's dinner. So when looking for a base to explore the Garden Route we decided to use Belvidere Manor. The hotel is around 5 minutes drive from Knysna town, set on a hill overlooking the lagoon and... More

We stayed at the Belvidere for 3 nights whilst visiting Knysna. Accommodation consists of lodges located either side of the main house all of which have views across the lagoon. Lodges are of a good standard comparable with a good sized timeshare lodge and include well equipped kitchen areas. Our lodge (number 29) had 3 bedrooms - 1 x double;... More

We again stayed as for many years for a week at this charming hotel in one of their lagoon cottages which we (and so many others) find so ideal and well furnished and gives a change to being in a hotel. Breakfast is good and in particular when on the terrace and we found the old Bell pub great fun... More

The cottage was just a dream! Equipped with highest standard, we really enjoyed our stay. The staff is great, but there is one guy who made our stay even more beautiful as we expected it: Jeffrey. He took care about our breakfast, served spare ribs for dinner and in between he made sure that we everything was ok! In short:... More

I have stayed at The Belvidere several times and what I like about is the amazing situation so much nicer than staying in a hotel. The accommodation is in houses and cottages interspersed with lovely shrubs bordering the paths and an amazing view of the lagoon - at night the view is beautiful with the lights of Knysna in the...
