Good location, but Highfield Bachpackers has a dorm without a soul, only goal is to aquire money. Much too much beds in one room, without place for backpacks or luggage and without a possibility to recharge your cellphone/camera in the surrounding. Kitchen was very dirty. Table was gluey.

Loved this hostel. True its not a luxury hostel but I have stayed in far worse hostels in Darwen and Wellington. Its central and convenient. The manager Dean is amazing. Location wise one can't fault the place but its a bit run down and the bathrooms were in need of maintenance. The staff are friendly but possibly stoned. Its also a pity that there is only on street parking available.

One good thing I have to say about this place is the managers, Victor and Dean, are really cool and aim to please. Sadly, the owner seems to have neglected the place a bit. We paid a bit extra and booked a double room and the mattress was so bad, I had springs and wires digging into my ribs all... More
