If you want a place that's all chinz and polish then don't come here. However if you like quirky it might be the perfect place for you. The rooms are little cottages, spread through the jungle-like garden. Sitting on our terrace drinking coffee while looking at the garden was a joy. The staff are really friendly and helpful and the... More

Knysna is a must do when drivin on the garden route and bamboo guesthouse is the place to stay! We arrived late without reservation and had a warm welcome. The cottage we got was very nice and cosy. The garden is very beautiful with lots of attention to details. Breakfast was very good too. And thanks for the recommendations! Schöne... More

While travelling the Garden Route this was one of our overnight stops. The surroundings are lush and unusual, with lots of walkways and plants. The first time we tried to find our way back to our room we got lost!!! The room itself was stunning, beautifully decorated and welcoming. Breakfast was served in the dining-room with a roaring log fire... More

The cottages are located in the lush garden connected by boardwalks. We stayed in Pampas (honeymoon suite) which had a fireplace, big bath and comfy bed. There were lots of little added touches including flowers on the bed when we arrived. Outside there is a deck where you can relax looking at the garden. In the garden there are bells... More

Bamboo is a fabulous guest house located in a fairy tropical garden on several tiers completely decorated with fantastic-to-discover objects. Just incredible. The owners are very kind and helpful, the food you eat is simple but delicious. In the room there was all what we needed and more, including the wood stove. A bit more attention to the tidiness will... More

Really enjoyed our stay at this quirky little place. The staff were friendly and helpful and the food was lovely. It was like being in a mini jungle with all the plants and the general layout, which made it different to any of the other places we stayed during our trip, and the kids enjoyed exploring the area. We loved... More

The bathroom needs a make-over, especially the shower. Some of the towels had holes in it. But the service was very good and the food excellent. The beds should have electric blankets on them. Overall it was very nice.

The stay at Bamboo Guesthouse was awesome. Staff very friendly en helpfull. I loved Granny Bamboo - she is very special. We enjoyed the Chef's food and also his personality. Was disappointed not to receive a chalet with a fireplace as booked from the start.

The accommodation is built into the natural vegetation and cleverly linked with boardwalks. The result is a pretty unique and intriguing venue. The rooms or cottages are simply furnished but comfortable enough. The staff were great - friendly and welcoming. So were there any negatives? Well, as with many coastal resorts in the Western Cape, winters can sometimes be cold... More

A small piece of heaven tucked away in Knysna ! We stayed there for 4 nights ( in the Boma unit) during the July 2014 Knysna Oyster Festival. The units are individually decorated allowing one to stay in different units when visiting again. Wooden pathways begs to be explored. The garden feels like a mini forest - my wife loved... More
