A truly pleasurable stay at the edge of the forest in Knysna. Five eco friendly huts (you can actively support by compost for worms). Cracking fireplace inside made up for the cold winter weather together with electrical blankets! Don't miss the fantastic walk down to the natural rock pool!

We had a self catering cottage called Fairy Den - a standard cottage. It was fabulous. Two bedrooms the double with candlesticks and tea lights in a beautiful room. We arrived to find a bucket of wood and kindling for the fire, fresh wild flowers, spotless everywhere, present of local honey, a video to watch and return on the Knysna... More

We changed our whole itinerary of our two-week holiday to fit in two nights at Forest Edge, so we were dismayed to receive an email from Ronel letting us know that they had experienced a disastrous electrical blow-out after a storm and we probably wouldn't be able to stay. However, we went to see for ourselves, and decided we would... More

Forest Edge Nature Lovers Retreat must be the best place on earth to get away from it all. Cannot remember when last I had such a stress free break, being in touch with nature ti this extent. The stars - milky way so beautiful, I had forgotten it was still up there. I would recommend this Retreat to anyone.

During our road trip in May we wanted to stay here as it was voted no 1 and the pictures look very pretty. They were full but on our way back we popped in out of interest to see if we should come back to stay in the future. While it looks like it does on the photographs, bear in... More

Thanks for this very helpful review! It helps our guests to believe the 99.9% of guests who do post an excellent review - else it does start looking fishy : - ) So reviews like this help to show that this system is completely open to anyone to voice their opinion. It will help, though, if it was an informed... More

Indeed a perfect place and setting to detox the mind. Cosy, private cottages ideal for all seasons and reasons. The forest, the chirping birds and the occasional sighting of baboons completes the natural environment that Forest Edge is encapsulated in.

A very special three days and nights were spent enjoying one of the fabulous cottages (Froggy Pond) at Forest Edge. The cottage was fully equipped and well appointed and the whole complex is beautifully managed with every detail well thought through. The location is excellent to be a quiet get-away, without being too far from local attractions. The cottages are... More

Not far from the bright city lights and lagoon of Knysna, this delightful self catering establishment lies in wait to ensnare your heart forever. The Knysna indigenous forest is less than 10 mins drive away, filled with ferns, ancient trees, myths and adventure. A walk and a picnic are a must! The quaint homesteads each have two bedrooms with separate... More

Wow! What a great stay! Everything u need and more, from a fireplace for the rainy days and a braai for the summer days.In the morning you can see the Knysna Lorries from your stoep while drinking coffee. A sort drive to some exiting things to do and a owner with a warm heart.
