We have stayed at Milkwood Lodge for the last 3 years and have booked again for 2010 for our Honeymoon. My fiancee has stayed there previously also. Staying at Milkwood Lodge is the highlight of our trip and we would not consider staying anywhere else in Hermanus. Each year we book a little longer there - usually around 2 weeks.... more

A two week short holiday in the Western Cape allowed us to get a feel of what thee is to offer not only in Cape Town but also around Cape Town. We stayed at several places in different areas but must mention that our stay in Hermanus was particularly good and we had the most outstanding breakfast. At several places... more

We arrived in Hermanus early evening from the east, and drove from that side of town to the other looking for suitable lodgings. My daughter said she had seen a nice looking B&B on the edge of town. She was not mistaken. What a wonderful experience we had. The room was spacious, the view dramatic, the food delicious and the... more

There are already many reviews about Milkwood Lodge in Hermanus and most of the things that we would wish to say are already published. We stayed in the bungalow with its own patio and garden with the most beautiful view of the mountain We had a lovely bedroom with large ensuite bathroom and dressing room. The lounge/diner and open plan... more

We just returned from a 6 week holiday in South Africa. Without doubt one of our favourite destinations must be Hermanus. Our accommodation at Milkwood Lodge was outstanding and perfectly located for beach and mountain walks. The Hermanus Golf Course has just been upgraded and it is a great course to play. Milkwood Lodge is situated on an extremely large... more

I stayed at Milkwood lodge with my husband and 2 children for 2 nights during August 07, in the 'family room'. The room itself was spacious, clean and comfortable with a 'country style' bathroom with large fluffy towels and nice toiletries. There was a lovely view of the mountains from our room, and the garden below - the location of... more

A superb standard of accomodation. The room was huge, as was the bathroom. Linda and Georg were excellent hosts. Tremendous value for money. 5 minutes drive from Hermanus town centre and a few minutes walk to the seafront. Definitely a tremendous location in which to be based if you are whale watching. This isn't a seafront location, but you aren't... more

My wife and I are both aged 70. We live in Fife, Scotland and have been lucky enough to do much travelling. We have visited the United States, Canada, New Zealand, China, Malaysia, Egypt, Spain and Portugal. As can be imagined, these detinations have provided us with much variation. Each one has its special attraction, but not one can compare... more

Fantastic guesthouse and much much better than any B&B we have ever experienced. The guest house is conveniently placed for Hermanus attractions and the rooms are superb with extremely comfortable beds, sparkling bathrooms and also fridges in the rooms. It's aptly named as much of the garden consists of large Milkwood trees giving shade and character to the grounds. There... more
