We took all the roooms, beautiful view, but that it where it ends. This place need a complete overhaul, renovation. Pain on the floors comes off, walls damaged, leaking. One room was not even available, moved us to another BB.

We very much enjoyed our stay at Whale Cottage, Hermanus. The accommodation is clean and well-appointed and the staff are very friendly and helpful - we were given a warm welcome and lots of advice on activities and restaurants for our stay. Derek & Naomi

I agree with location and rooms..I also agree that Carol, the manager, when she is around and not on leave, might be helpful. The hotel is unattended between 18:00 hrs and 08:00 hrs. and the security locks old and not safe; let alone the staff ( one single person) negligent in checking whether all outside doors are locked. This was our first stop on the garden route. Unfortunately not whale season. Carol was lovely and extremely helpful and made us feel right at home. The place is cute and very homely.
