A convenient location for exploring the area; basic, functional, clean and neat facilities; some basic extras could make the room feel a bit luxurious; helpful and friendly proprietors; excellent breakfast

With six persons we used 3 of the 5 rooms. Two young man are the new owners of this comfortable and charming place. The rooms are big, clean and made up in a typical African way. For dinner you have to drive to Hermanus, nearby. Breakfast is plenty and tasteful. Very friendly and helpfull people. A quiet and safe place. Recommended... More

This is a very comfortable place. Rooms are extra large and well appointed. Breakfast was good -- the typical, large South African breakfast. Staff were very friendly. This establishment is located in a residential area outside Hermanus. From the outside it appears to be a single-family home and there is no signage. We had a bit of trouble finding the... More

It's next door in Sandbaai, so a 10 minute drive from Hermanus. But does it really matter? There's nothing to do in Hermanus at night! Quiet and charming. It's a lovely house with just a few rooms and parking. Great breakfast in the morning made to order.

From the moment we arrived until we left the lady (don't remember her name) taking care of us from check in, giving us information on things happening close by, serving us breakfast right up until we checked out was very friendly and always had a smile. Very warm welcome. The room was very large and spacious with its own private... More

Maryke greeted us very friendly when we arrived. Rose-Marie was also friendly and helpful. Room was very clean and spacious with a private balcony. Because it was our anniversary we got a free bottle of wine and chocolates in our bedroom, About a 5 minute walk to the beach. A nice pool to relax at night or early morning. Very... More

We stayed at the Amakhosi Guesthouse for one night on September 4th 2013 as the first stop on a short trip down the Garden Route. The guest house is located about a mile or so outside Hermanus in Sandbaai. The house is a very spacious, bright building with a pleasant garden. Our room was very comfortable, and the welcome we... We spend the night a the guest house and the first good surprise was our upgrade, I ask a sea view so they upgraded us, so nice ! The room was enormous, nearly too big ;) with views and a lounge area with an African theme. Nicely decorated, the only disturbance was coming from the fridge, I just unplug it... More

This guest house is actually at Sandbaai, well out of Hermanus, and is let down by its location, which feels something like it’s on a British council estate. The owner lives in Germany, and the lady who stands in for him/her is preoccupied by her two other jobs and is always scurrying off to meetings or writing up minutes, so... More

We thank you for your comment. As we try to cater for everyones needs we will buy some double duvets just in case someone does not like the single duvets provided actualy per sleeping position.
