Set in a majestic valley known for its wines, mink and manure, the Alphen Hotel is a little gem ideal for a romantic getaway or as a base for exploring the Cape Peninsula. The suites are all well-appointed - many with his and hers bathrooms, wonderful towels, robes (that actually fit!) and furnishings. A Lavazza pod coffee machine tops things... More

La Belle is a deli/ coffee shop/restaurant at The Alphen Boutique Hotel in Constantia, Cape Town. An excellent breakfast was enjoyed indoors on a public holiday in June. The restaurant was fully booked inside as it was a cool winter day but patrons also sat outside on the verandah. The breakfast menu was comprehensive and well-priced. The four of us... More

From the moment we arrived our every need was met. The staff are exceptionally efficient and friendly. The rooms are amazingly decorated and in exceptional condition, it is easy to see how they achieved their 5 star rating. We ended up cancelling a forthcoming booking with another hotel to come back for a 2nd experience. Well done to the Alphen... More

With a beautiful garden decorated with the' scales' of yesteryear used by the wine merchants in Constantias history and the original huge cellar doors of the wine vat storage - I knew I was back in the heart of the Alphen with its typical Dutch touch of elegance. This was always a draw card for my brother on his way... More

Exceptional in every way! The elegant buildings, warm welcome, vast gardens, the beautifully fitted rooms, the bars and lounges, food quality and high speed wi-fi everywhere, this hotel can compete with any 5 star boutique establishment worldwide. It is out of the city centre (15 min by car) but close to the highway system. Highly recommend it for business or... More

This has become my hotel of choice for business travel to Cape Town (though I would also use it for leisure). This was my fifth stay here at the Alphen Hotel and the standard is consistently first class. It is a rare thing to find the hotel, staff, location, rooms, food all up to the very highest standard. Location-wise, the... More

Had the pleasure of visiting the Alphen a few weeks ago, and was amazed at the transformation that's taken place under the new ownership. A world class, sophisticated yet relaxed atmosphere. The food in both the bakery and the restaurant was excellent and the rooms and the pool area quite lovely.. A great addition to the Cape's reputation as the... More

I have stayed at the Alphen twice this year and really like this hotel. It's an unusual place as it doubles up as a hotel for visitors and a very popular watering hole for Constantia locals. La Belle - the all day casual restaurant and bakery - is just the sort of place that anyone would want in their neighbourhood... More

LA BELLE ALPHEN The setting of the historic Alphen Hotel is superb! The beautiful Constantia Berg forms a majestic backdrop and the manicured lawns and indigenous flora complete an unforgettable canvas. The star of the show is the beautifully proportioned main house which is Dutch colonial grandeur at its elegant best. (It even comes complete with the tale of a... More

Rooms are nicely decorated and are not just typical 5 star hotel plain/flavorless rooms. Breakfast was excellent as well as the dinner in the "5 Rooms" restaurant (live Jazz band was definitely a nice plus!).
