Stayed for 2 nights in Feb. After a slightly slow start when our lunch order seemed to get lost everything thereafter was great. Hotel is in some old Dutch cape style buildings surrounded by Beautifull gardens. The rooms were very nice and spacious and the staff all really friendly and vey professional. The setting for the Rose bar and the... More

Great hotel with fabulous , if on the kitsch side, decor and spacious rooms in beautiful old buildings. Wonderful gardens with huge old oak trees around the pool. Excellent service and great food. Couldn't fault it.

Spent a week here in January with my wife. There are only 19 rooms. Accommodation is spacious, modern, bright and extremely comfortable. There are beautiful gardens and a pool. Chairs around the pool are plentiful and very comfortable. Sun beds are available too. Breakfasts are wonderful with lots of choice. We had one dinner in the formal restaurant which was... More

Arrived there on 6th Dec in the morning, long before we were supposed to book in. The staff immediately made us feel welcome and led us to outside area where we could get breakfast and then the poolside while we waited for the room be made ready. When we got in we were really impressed and it was very large,... More

This is a beautiful hotel, but their customer service is truly awful. We booked for a celebration birthday lunch and, upon arrival, were told that they were unable to confirm our booking unless we could provide the name of the person that had taken the booking(!). Instead we went to Buitenverwachtung where the staff were incredibly helpful and nice. I... More

When we entered this place and our rooms we felt like royalties. The rooms are big, nicely decorated and there are two bathrooms! Both bathrooms are equipped with a toilet and a sink. one bathroom had a douche, the other one a bath. there were different electricity sockets like African and European. The place was clean and there was a... More

This was our second stay at the Alphen and was just as good as the first time. We travel to Cape Town for business and also gather with friends. Both times, we have spent the whole time at the Aphen and have found everything excellent here. The staff are friendly, the rooms are gorgeous and comfortable, the food is excellent... More

The Alphen Hotel in Cape Town is a beautiful and, on the whole, fairly well-run hotel in the Constantia area of Cape Town. But it plays muzak which is wholly out of place in an establishment of this kind, when asked to turn down the volume, I was told that this was centrally "synched" and there fore it was not... More

We stayed for one night in a classic suite. Beautiful well appointed and private room with a view to the garden. We had lunch as well as breakfast and both were scrumptious. The staff were very efficient and friendly. This hotel is great value and a must visit in the Southern Suburbs of Cape Town.

Wanted somewhere 'out of Town' to chill for 3 days before returning to UK after 3 weeks in Zimbabwe Botswana and SA.
