The Hotel We visited Derwent house for our honeymoon in August 2014. As for the hotel itself, it is a very cute boutique hotel in the Gardens area, near shops and bars on Kloof St. Keep in mind you’re a 10 minute cab ride to the city center / Table Mountain lift / Waterfront, but cabs are cheap if you’re... I recently stayed at the Derwent House and all was very lovely, thought the facilities were great, nice public areas, superb staff, overall we experienced top service. A most convenient aspect is their close proximity to excellent bars and restaurant, all in walking distance, no need for a car. Cape Town is full of interesting places to experience and the... More

This is a truly amazing place to stay in cape town. We loved the location as well as the décor of this hotel. Breakfasts were delicious. The staff was very helpful all the time. The place has such a lovely atmosphere and would recommend it without any hesitation.

Only occasionally do you come across a place that is as near perfect as is reasonable to expect. We have just returned from spending a week at Derwent House in Tamberskloof. The rooms are spacious, well equipped and very attractive. Breakfast ( offering a wide choice of delicious dishes) can be taken either inside or on the balcony overlooking the... More

We spent two wonderful nights here on a long tour of the Western Cape: by far the best of the 20+ hotels and guesthouses we have experienced along the way, and memorable in every way. Cannot speak highly enough of the excellent staff--everyone bending over backwards to accommodate guests needs and desires. A genuine home away from home--but with all... More

The best hotel we have ever stayed at. Period! Service, personnel, atmosphere, amenities, room, pool, breakfast, everything! This hotel's ownership and staff are doing it right. Can't say it enough. Wow. All while loking out the window at Table Mountain. Great location too near great restaurants and bars. A bit more expensive than your average Holiday Inn but well worth... More

My wife and I stayed here for two weeks whilst we explored the Cape Town area. From the moment we walked in we were warmly received and made to feel very much at home and special. The staff were always willing to help, no matter what the request or time of day. From advice on good restaurants to tourist attractions,... More

We stayed at Derwent house for 3 days as part of our honeymoon. We had a great time at the hotel. The hotel is located in a lovely locality, not too far from the bustling strand street area. Moreover the staff at the hotel is extremely accommodating and helpful. We had a positively fabulous stay.

After travelling in Botswana DH was recommended as a base in Capetown. We planned to stay for three nights but extended to stay for five - we liked it! Convenient location near Kloof Street restaurants and bars with recommendations and reservations made by the DH team. The rooms are calm, tasteful understated luxury around the pool jacuzzi and deck area.... More

We stayed there for 5 nights!!! It was so nice!!! Staffs prepared breakfast bags for us before we were picked up for shark cage diving at 430am in the morning. They suggested us a nice restaurant at camp bay and things to do. Every time we came back from some sort of activities they had a nice kitchen that we... More
